Even Hood River still sitting at 21. NWS doesn’t seem too concerned and I know they have a very good handle on things.

It's interesting, the front has every appearance of something that will safely mix us out but the southerly push was severely overmodeled tonight. 00z NAM is coming in a good 15 degrees colder this evening for the gorge versus the earlier runs, playing catch up to the current reality.

I think the mixing will still occur around PDX/TTD, but time may be running out for it to be of the 40+ variety. Which could make the brief dead gradient situation tonight a little more interesting, with a much cooler starting point as the frontal passage occurs.

Bremerton airport now reporting snow at 440 feet. Still 36 degrees though.

It still looks like the front is sweeping in faster than modeled but it also looks like a new wave developing the might hold up the eastward progression.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Don't think I've ever seen 50 in Enumclaw while it's 37 here in a case like this.  This wall of cold air is really fighting off the south wind.

My kids school district just called and they are 2hrs late tomorrow as well. I have no idea why, its been over 40° and raining all day. I seriously doubt we'll see any sticking snow tonight.

Some are running late because they are allowing time for everyone to get a Covid test, I think.

Yeah, it would have been pretty rare to mix out so efficiently with temperatures a good 10 degrees below freezing just a few miles into the gorge. Reports are coming in that the Cape Horn area is an icy mess.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Yeah... I was just going to mention that I have never seen 50 degrees in Enumclaw with light snow falling here.    And the warm air will not make it either.

Finally going to be home tonight…flying into Everett instead of Spokane. Had to spend more money but it’s a much safer bet on getting home instead of testing the passes.

Glad to hear that! Paine Field is awesome.

For now the easterlies seem to be winning. Down to 38.7 here from a high of 43 with some brief southerlies earlier. And NW Portland just switched back to NE winds and dropped 12 degrees in an hour

Just remains to be seen how strong the mixing is with the actual front. I'd expect a decent jump most places, but in an anafront scenario there can be a big difference between 45 as your starting point and 36. Could very well mean the difference between nothing and a sloppy 2-3" for most of the east metro.

Precip is having a very hard time making it here so far.  We'll see if that changes.
