Gotta love online school. I have no idea what the teacher just asked me to do, so I just won't do it.

Snow? Wind?

Good chance the entire area has snow for a minimum of 4 hrs. These events are very tricky. How long we keep offshore flow and even when that is reduced there could be a period of slack winds that will keep snow going. These events never play out like forecasted and usually remain snow longer, especially in favored areas.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

The times I’ve checked the temperatures, minor outflow is going to drop them to the freezing mark here. Much of that pepto over Vancouver seems likely to verify! Also, just playing the odds, marginal wet slop that falls during transition/overrunning events tends to be our heaviest snowfalls, so it’s actually keeping in character with climo if it verifies.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Oregon is part of the pacific northwest, which happens to be a pretty big region, and he lives down in Oregon as do I...we aren't seeing anything interesting in this part of the PNW so that's what he's talking about.

12z Euro says no snow South of Snohomish County/Hood Canal tomorrow and nothing significant South of Whatcom. GFS says widespread 2-4" for all of Western WA. Good old fashioned model battle brewing.

If we get any outflow or easterly flow going before the front arrives the euro will be wrong.

Jan 2017 and Dec 2013 were the only two times I had trees look like in Snowmizer's pic. Reminds me of reading about "Pogonip" Fog which supposedly only happens in certain regions, but IMO if it's cold enough it can happen anywhere.

Dec 2013 photos. The 3rd one is unaltered. A week straight of lows below zero can do this.

Doesn’t matter where you live we never can know what will happen the whole month when it’s only the 4th next week or so looks pretty boring region wide

Hopefully I won't be doing online school for long enough to reach that point.

GFS is definitely an outlier with how south it goes. ICON/GEM/NAM all lean towards the Euro solution.
