BTW CLIFF, the ground is not warm. The ground although wet where snow isn't covering it is still very cold and is why everything froze up yesterday evening even though air temp was 34 35 degrees.  This guy is getting irritating.

We got a full load of winter Vitamin D in Hawaii.    Not sure how much Vitamin D you can get in Oklahoma in December.   I know at our latitude up here you get zero from November - February even if it is sunny every day.    But there is also a mental aspect to seeing the sun.

I believe the magic latitude for Vitamin D in winter is at about 36°N

Very handy tool, I figured out a way to use it as a diagnostic tool you wouldn't normally think of. I use it for finding electrical draws are cars that would cause a dead batter overnight. Like a stuck relay or a short to ground will show up as heat.  I might be crappy at grammar and spelling but give me anything with a engine in it and I'll fix it.

Well, Tennessee just shot that theory out the window.

It can snow in Georgia and they hardly have what most call a Winter season.

I'd say that is very close. It's been consistent and that is important.

I definitely think it will snow, I just don’t think Seattle gets 5in plus out of it. I think Seattle gets 2-3in. The GFS has cut back on snow totals for every event on the home stretch so far this year

Snow levels will be pretty high, so I am not disappointed. Let's keep this snow pack intact as we head into a quieter/drier period.

We had a half inch of wet sloppy snow early this morning, air temp was 34 when I left the house to drive the kids to school, the roads were glazed ice. Mr Mass is Massively wrong on this.

41/34 0.07” of precip today and 1.78” so far this month. Has been a solidly chilly stretch since 12/20 with snowflakes in the air on 12 out of the last 16 days…measurable snowfall on 8 days as well. I think we will atleast see some light accumulation with the Wednesday night system as well. Overall the 12/20-1/6 period will end up pretty decent.

I'm in Kuna Idaho (a little SW of Boise) and considered to be in the Treasure Valley. I saw the latest area forecast discussion. Pretty interesting. Rain during the night, snow during the day, back and forth. Seems rather opposite but I suppose it's all about timing.

I don't recall seeing anyone else in the Treasure Valley on here. My parents are in Nampa and my brother is in Boise, so I'm always tracking the weather down there too.

Ah nice! Yeah we moved over here from Auburn WA in July. Quite a bit different weather wise which I love. Got 4 seasons too!

Wait. WHAT? 3-5" of snow is considering pulling back? You've had persistent cold and snow since Christmas Eve, well almost. Several shots of accumulating snowfall. Now more on the way. You have absolutely zero to complain or whine about up north. You should consider yourselves living a very charmed life if you like cold and snow! Winter just began this has been a phenomenal front end thus far. BUT. Do not get too snow greedy.
