Blewett pass has not been plowed. About 6 inches on the highway. This is crazy and I love it.

And your wife is driving??   My wife hates driving in snow... with a passion.   And she was born and raised in MN.  🤨

Nice!! Jetta owners are very happy with them

Not on this forum, I am in the minority 😆😆😆😆

I get it, It can be hit for miss with the VW brand, there are some real dogs out there. I've been lucky in that the last 2 VW's I've had have been excellent cars.  For a small car it fits my 6'3" 270# frame very comfortably, and its a lot of fun to drive, especially for the money.  And with it being the wagon, I can lie flat (diagonally) in the back to sleep.  I can easily load 2 kayaks on the roof and all my kayaking/camping gear in the back

Interesting... learning new things tonight.

Still can't justify Picnic Point - North Lynnwood though... but exclude Lynnwood itself.   😀

My own personal term for when unsynchronized traffic lights with overly many phases back up traffic is "Lynnwooding."

Early 2000s Golf R32 would be one of my ideal first cars. I hope I get to own one someday.

Abbotford radar (CASAG) is another option.  There are some blanks spots, one being right where I live, but I've figured out how to extrapolate what it is showing to figure out when it *should* be raining or snowing IMBY.

Speaking of YYJ.  1/2 mile visibility currently with moderate snow and a NE wind gusting to 30mph.

Loving the snow pics guys. Keep ‘em coming.

And good news: unless my flight is delayed, I should make it home in time for the next snow event. 🤞🙏  Would heal some of the pain of missing the last one.

Got just over half an inch here in South Everett. Just slightly too warm and not enough heavy precip tonight for much more than that.

Then click on "radar."

It will get you the Canadian radar in Aldergrove. Covers Whatcom County much better than the US one on Camano Island.

Has been 35-36 for the past couple hours now. Had some wet snow for about 30 minutes roughly tonight. Just rain since. Not bad think this is the 12th day out of the last 16 with snowflakes in the air. Looking likely that we stay below 40 until midnight and it’ll be our 10th sub 40 day so far this winter.

Tacoma WA elevation 300’

Monthly rainfall-3.56”

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Definitely transitioning here... picked up about 1/2 inch of snow earlier that has coated all the trees again.  Still not melting and there is no wind... but now getting a light sleet and rain mix.

Might be playing with fire there, mk3 and Mk4’s are absolutely terrible, and I think mk4’s went up to around 2005-2006.  I had a mk5 Jetta that was great, and I think the mk6 is excellent as well.  My car is a frankenstein hybrid of mk5 and mk6, Jetta and Golf.  Pain in the a** to buy parts for because a lot of parts sites don’t list the JSW, so I have to figure out which generation/ body style the part came from.  Luckily I’ve only had to buy parts for upgrades and routine maintenance.  2.5L is a fun, stout motor.  Haven’t driven a 2.0 or 1.8 gasser.

I am bummed that I am really wiped out tonight, it would be fun to watch some of the super heavy stuff pass through.  Super busy day tomorrow so I guess I should make the whole adulting thing a priority and zonk out.

I've been down in Everett for all of the events up here, so I'm trying to stay awake for this one

Overall the last 17 days were pretty decent. It’s definitely felt like winter since we roasted in late November and early December. Thought these were some cool stats. Only 1 day really torched throughout the period.
The 24/16 day on 12/27 was the coldest I’ve recorded at my location.
7 consecutive days with measurable snowfall is a record at my location as well. 8 days with measurable snowfall in a month is also a record.
The low of 16 on 12/27 was the coldest low since November 2010 and the low of 20 on 1/1 was the coldest we’ve been in the month of January since 2007.
December 2021 with 11” of snow is my 4th snowiest month on record…behind February 2019, December 2008 and February 2021.

(All wx records are 2005 to present.)

Many of the models have the band of heavy precip stretching all the way into Whatcom before morning. Much colder air to tap into for higher snow ratios/longer event duration over there too. I wouldn't be surprised if your area ended up with a similar amount to what we're seeing here. Currently at 4" over here.
