Popular Post VancouverIslandSouth
It's funny but tonight is looking like the second best January snow event here in the last 15 years (after Jan 2020). Yet this is largely just a remnant of the December blast that came about in a very strange way and felt very last minute. The Jan 2020 blast was an odd one too. Down to 30.6F and dumping powdery snow. I took a walk down the street a bit earlier and it was bright enough for photos. Wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be Victoria's last significant snow of the season.

TacomaWaWx
Overall the last 17 days were pretty decent. It’s definitely felt like winter since we roasted in late November and early December. Thought these were some cool stats. Only 1 day really torched throughout the period. The 24/16 day on 12/27 was the coldest I’ve recorded at my location. 7 consecutive days with measurable snowfall is a record at my location as well. 8 days with measurable snowfall in a month is also a record. The low of 16 on 12/27 was the coldest low since November 2010 and the low of 20 on 1/1 was the coldest we’ve been in the month of January since 2007. December 2021 with 11” of snow is my 4th snowiest month on record…behind February 2019, December 2008 and February 2021.
