Have you been able to clear your roof at all?

No... way too high and way too dangerous.    We do have high peaks though so we should be fine.   I just know this sitation is not going to be good for people in the area if we don't get a warm SW wind soon.    Its still calm here.   The SW wind is very close but can't break through.

1.08” now for the day…3.24” MTD. Going to end up with an impressive daily total as it doesn’t show any sign of letting up for now. We’ve also hit 50 for the first time in 3 weeks…only the 2nd +50 day since 12/2 we’ve been leaning colder than normal over the last month…but today has felt very much like the last few Januaries have.

Tacoma WA elevation 300’

Ended up with an additional 7 to 8 inches of new snow here in North Spokane, I have about 12 to 14 inches on the ground. It has been fun! 🙌😁 Warm up and rain comes tonight so going to be quite the mess. 😬

Any reports on the conditions in Colville and Chewelah?

So far not impressive snowfall, could just be the Ashland dome doing it's thing.

1/3" an hour unless it gets heavier.

Why is Leavenworth so snowy if it's just barely over 1000 ft in elevation?

Eastern WA is colder during winter and hotter during summer.  And being in the east slopes, we get a lot of cold air damming.  We also get a lot more precipitation than other parts of Eastern Washington since we are closer to the mountains.  Even Cashmere, which is close by, gets a lot less.  There are large precipitation gradients in a small area.  This is the main reason we get more snow than Winthrop, though they are further North and at a higher elevation.

And during snow storms, we often get easterly upslope winds due to low pressure systems being to our SW.  That enhances precipitation even more.  Big factor today along with a huge slug of moisture.

Government Camp is probably the snowiest town.

Crater Lake lodge might be the snowiest spot in OR with an official NWS weather station.

Crater does get nailed good in the right setups. They had 200" in Dec 2015.

I can truthfully say I would not want that much snow. Once it gets above about 10" I'm out.

I mean, I wouldn't want it all winter, but I don't know that there's a limit to how much snow I would want to have in the short term.
