Popular Post SilverFallsAndrew
On a personal note, one of my dogs (My avatar pic is of her.), has been missing for about a week and a half. Her disappearance has baffled me, she's 10 years old, she never runs off, and I was unable to track her at all in the snow. I was worried she had wandered off and fallen in a creek, through the ice on a pond, been killed by the cougar that has been stalking the hill, etc... The worst part was the not knowing. Anyways, my wife suggested today that I search animal shelters, and lost dog postings. Seems obvious, but the area we live in is so remote, it seemed out of the question she would be at a shelter, we posted on the local facebook page, and no one had seen her, so I had thought the worst had happened. But today we located her at a shelter in Vancouver, not quite sure how she got there, but it is definitely her... They said she did not like kennel life, and has been fostered up in Skamania County and has been LOVING the snow. Such unexpectedly great news, we'll be picking her up this evening. My guess is she made it to the highway, and someone passing through picked her up and maybe the lived up in Clark county so they dropped her off at the shelter up there. Very strange. 29 5 Quote Snowfall Precip 2022-23: 95.0" 2022-23: 17.39" 2021-22: 52.6" 2021-22: 91.46" 2020-21: 12.0" 2020-21: 71.59" 2019-20: 23.5" 2019-20: 58.54" 2018-19: 63.5" 2018-19: 66.33" 2017-18: 30.3" 2017-18: 59.83" 2016-17: 49.2" 2016-17: 97.58" 2015-16: 11.75" 2015-16: 68.67" 2014-15: 3.5" 2013-14: 11.75" 2013-14: 62.30 2012-13: 16.75" 2012-13: 78.45 2011-12: 98.5" 2011-12: 92.67" It's always sunny at Winters Hill! That is amazing news! Being in the shelter field for nearly a decade now I can tell you that no matter how remote you think you live always report a lost dog with all of the area shelters, so many times they end up there, someone picks up a dog thinking it is lost when in reality it’s just at the end of their driveway, etc and takes them to the closest shelter where they are put onto stray hold. Once the hold is up they either put them up for adoption, place them into a foster home if they do not shelter well, or get transferred to an organization that either has more space or is a transfer in only shelter like the one I work at. If you lived in certain other parts of the country once stray hold was up the outcome would not be so good. 3 Quote Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I was pretty much "forced" to go to college out of high school, its just what you did in my family. I failed out of my first college attempt the first year, then it was a bunch of start/stops after that as I tried to rebuild my GPA. When I applied to WGU, I had to order 6-7 transcripts to capture all my credits. They were going a thing where they waived the application fee which was greatly appreciated because I had to spend about $50 getting all my transcripts sent! In hindsight, I think I probably would have been better off going into the trades. I like working with my hands. Everyone in my family (except one aunt who was in the family by marriage) had a degree and had white collar professions, so I didn't grow up seeing the trades as a viable career path. The one aunt was a printer, and I actually did that for a few years and loved it. I apprenticed at a shop in Atlanta, and she had her own shop in Columbus, I would go down and help her when she had big jobs, which was kinda fun. It was already a dying industry as laser copiers got better and better. The one downside, anything not printed not centered/oriented correctly on the page jumped out like a sore thumb. It became a game for me and my aunt...."what's wrong with this print." And of course that is pretty much a dead trade now. Any way, I would definitely not recommend the path I took to ANYONE, but I will say "better late than never." 6 Quote Britton Rd Bellingham Weather Station: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KWABELLI103?cm_ven=localwx_pwsdash

It made a huge difference in my life. There are many career paths that do not require a degree, mine is not on one of them. I advanced pretty high up where I was at because of my hard work, but I could not go anywhere else because I could not "check that box." I finished my degree in 2019 (BS in Business Management), and fall 2020 I found out I was going to get laid off. Yeah, I was a little concerned, but nothing like the stress I felt during previous layoffs when I didn't have that degree. I got my degree from WGU, and I loved it. It's perfect for someone who is working full time, has family obligations, etc. My wife has been going (she had to take a break) to WGU, and my 25 year old daughter should be graduating this summer. Hell, I'm even thinking about going back to get my MBA and see if I can land a part time teaching gig there to get a little extra income to boost my retirement. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me a message. It took me 7 years to finish my associates, mostly because I was working and because I was putting off college English for as long as I could. Luckily with Amazon you don't need a degree to move up, but it does help. Also, why would I pass up free money?

I imagine other sports are similar. I never did any of that, but maybe being 6'5" and left handed really made the difference for me. If you're good enough, you'll get noticed. She must have had so much fun playing in the snow and got lost finding her way back when all the roads were snow covered. God bless the good Samaritan who picked her up. That sounds like what my old family dog would do. We couldn't trust him off leash at any point in his life, but we would let him run around in the snow in the backyard with us. Without fail, he would eventually take off into the green space behind our house and I would have to go chase him down. Eventually he would stop to pee or poop so I would always catch him. 2 Quote Home Weather Station Stats for 2023 High - Satans Bunghole Lowest High - Not sure Low - I don't have the data Sub 40 highs - Not quite Sub-freezing highs - Try again Lows below 25 - You're joking Lows below 20 - No 2023 Snowfall - LOL

Our little lake always holds onto ice longer than I expect, especially given all the water that flows into it. We also seem to hold onto snow longer than I expect up here even after it warms up and the rain returns. 2 Quote **REPORTED CONDITIONS AND ANOMALIES ARE NOT MEANT TO IMPLY ANYTHING ON A REGIONAL LEVEL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED**

Consider having her microchipped in case this happens again. Edit: just realized that's already been recommended, so I second (or third) the recommendation. 1 Quote It's called clown range for a reason.
