I thought phase 7 was good for us? Yet this winter has sucked.

E-IO/Maritime continent is your winter goldilocks zone. Phase-7/WPAC gets iffy at times. And in the summer it often leads to a blowtorch.

Jim says it good. This winter could be worse though almost everyone scored! Just wasn’t on the same level south of Tacoma. Still time too only mid January.

Yeah, everyone did score. It's all relative. In the valley getting some snow makes the winter, up here we need multiple events. The good thing up here is we can score well into April, in the valley it's pretty much over by late February.

Some type of snow event…not as long lasting or deep as last time but something atleast. I think this winters got one more event left but we will see.

Still some snow left here despite a night a breezy, warm, rainy night.

ECMWF shows the rain lifting north of the Seattle area by late morning so this afternoon should be basically dry.

Played 4 years of college ball at WOU (BACK then it was WOSC). Had offers from all of the smaller schools

Came from a smaller town (Stayton) and it was certainly more difficult to get "noticed," although playing in Salem during the summer was better exposure.

Never drafted (not much demand for a 5' 9" left hander that could hit but lacking speed to play outfield) but had an opportunity to play professionally in Australia. D**n girlfriend at the time, convinced me to not go as it was a two year contract with an off season job coaching at a national academy.

My advice today would be to look at the JC route if your not getting offers. College teammate's son did that and is now pitching for OSU.

I have a friend that played in Aussie. He said it was a cool experience.

Definitely think JC is the way to go as well. Some of the better programs in the region (Bellevue, Edmonds, Everett, Lower Columbia, Mt. Hood, Lane etc) have great connections to 4-year schools and send dudes all over the country. Plus, you save so much money going that route.

If it weren’t a La Niña year we’d be pretty screwed...

Thankfully December was kind to the west. Currently, the entirety of Oregon+Washington’s snowpack regions are above the 1991-2020 normal. Similar to the 1971-2000 normal.

La Niña pattern configurations overwhelmingly get locked in in February-May during -ENSO wet seasons, sometimes well beyond that.

If it were +ENSO, alongside a bad snowpack situation, well... Let’s just leave that thinking for Jan 2023 Aidan.

Yes that's my property where house will be. We got so lucky finding it, 160 acres bordering national forest on 3 sides for 150k was a steal.  Property value has trippled there in 4 years.
