Is it still going?

I think so. So many rightfully focused on the people in Tonga but this SO2 being blasted into the stratosphere is serious business. Looking forward to seeing the VEI on this and I'm hoping it's a 5 or 6. Get some proper cold air down here like 1992-93.

Change of subjects, but I have McDonalds 4 maybe 5 times a year and I tried the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. All of those commercials promoting it. Wow. It was awful. It wasn't crispy, it was just a chicken filet between two buns with no mayo, no sauce, nothing. Dry. Anyhow.

Tweet from Portland NWS

845 AM | The first waves have arrived on the southern Oregon coast with a 36 cm (1.18 ft) wave observed at Port Orford and a 88 cm (2.88 ft) wave observed at Port San Luis in southern California. Again, the highest waves will likely occur AFTER the first waves arrive #OregonCoast

Very interesting. Hopefully it stays small like that.

I wonder how this eruption is going to throw all modeling off.

Seems like it takes a long time for it to change weather patterns.    Pinatubo erupted in June 1991 and the winter of 91-92 was a train wreck around here... and the summer of 92 was pretty warm and that was a year after the eruption.   The effects seemed to kick in about 18 months later during the winter of 92-93 through about July 1993.
