We get a shot of fairly cool air and then immediately enter a period of strong ridging with only weak offshore flow. Looks like a very good shot at a decent period of below normal temps. Had to look it up... that town has a surprisingly Seattle-like winter climate given its at 63N. Looks like the Jet stream was suppressed over California in Jan 1923 as we had 85" of snow that month versus 0" for this Jan. Also this Jan looks to join Jan 2015 and Jan 1991 as the only ones with 0" snow recorded. We have also never had a 100"+ snow month followed up with a 0" snow month.
