Are you getting into the ITS COMING mode yet?

Its pretty much the only thing that is missing right now.

A pattern change is coming, but it’s not coming in my humboldt opinion. It already came and the refractory period gets longer every year.

1/19/2016 - Severe Squall Line happened in Klamath Falls. There was still a little snow cover on the ground not to mention was still on the mountains! The storms formed off the SW Oregon coast and moved east. KLMT recorded a 67mph gust and I had a few close booms with 1/2" hail. Very short lived, it passed about as quick as it arrived.

Some don't grasp how rare that is, the last January thunderstorm before it was in the 1980's. What kept that squall alive over the cascades and into Lake County? The average first thunder is late April and my other earliest occurrences were 3/22/2015, or 3/29/2014. Some years are late bloomers, 6/4/2012 and 6/5/2011 were my first those years.

18z GFS operational is much closer with the blocking high. Ensuing trough digs better. Arctic front drops to KSEA and stalls.

On Sunday's forecast, they said it would rain Monday through Thursday here.

It hasn't rained a drop.

Now it is saying it will rain tonight and Thursday and be sunny Friday through next Friday.  UGH.  Give me rain! What do they think this is?  SUMMER?  The worst time of the year?!

I'm watching the period around the 31st-3rd for snow levels in the 1000-1500' range, then I think after the 5th we see a 2nd go at it, that is the one with the bigger potential.

I'm not prepared. I will admit that. I just hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime.

We were not competely either…Until about 2 or so years ago when I had gotten up in the middle of the night to pee, as I was peeing a big sharp thud/crack happened in the house and my legs started vibrating a bit. After that small earthquake my wife and I decided to get earthquake insurance. I already have a large emergency toat of supplies and whatnot just for a major natural disaster and I have instructed my wife and older daughter that if I am not at home and they are if/when  a big one hits is to go straight to the propane tank and shut the valve off even if they do not think there is any leak happening until I can check it out. Also to trip off the well pump breaker if they notice any water leaking. And of course if major structural issues with the house to stay out of it.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!
