I always root for my area to get snow/cold whether I am here or not. But I'm more about the stats for posterity than anything else.

Looks like Enterprise will rent cars to people under 25. Pickup in Spokane and drop in Tacoma for about $300. I definitely didn’t dig deep so there could be some flaw in that plan but worth giving them a call if the alternative is a couple nights in a hotel in Spokane.

Woke up this morning and it was above freezing. Odd… the snow doesn’t look like much (if any) melting or compaction has taken place. Then I notice the walks are all freshly-covered. 2“ of wet sloppy stuff fell overnight.

I’ve seen Vancouver experience this sort of thing before from afar. What’s happening is that cold air banked against the North Shore Mountains last night, pushed by southerly flow (which here is aloft, never got windy overnight).

I wouldn't attempt to drive over the passes tonight,  this is why we came home a day early. It sucks sitting on the highway or trying to turn around when the pass is closed. Tonight will be near blizzard conditions over the passes.

What a wild setups. The 12z GFS still shows 5" of snow will fall in three hours between 7 PM and 10 PM tonight in Everett. Can't remember ever being 9 hours away from a potential event with less of an idea what to expect than this one.

12z Euro also moved slightly toward the GFS and shows 4" of snow for Everett. Kuchera ratios.

Winter might finally be knocking on my door in just a few days.

Had quite a soaker of a rain yesterday. There is still a big stream running on sides of the streets here from yesterday's storms.

Mid 40's and overcast.

It's crazy for sure. At this point the two big models need to be taken seriously.  I'd say this is going to happen.

Now all models have a foot of snow back home. I’m so depressed. My gf rolling her eyes at me like when I’m on a bender.

Probably good advice. I’m really just suggesting that a rental car looks like an option.

I guess the start of 2022 could be worse. Southern/eastern KY was into the 70's in 2000.

Maybe there will be 10 feet of snow 50 miles north of you and no snow where you live. It would be like California's last storm that drenched Los Angeles and ditched San Diego

The old veterans like me and Mossman will never leave for vacation between November and about March 10th. NEVER...

Just checked... there are many flights from Spokane to Seattle available tomorrow on Expedia.
