10” is pretty good.  That’s more than some places got up here.  YYJ ended December with only a little over 8”. Although their snow data looks a bit funky. It’s definitely in line with some lowland snow totals around my area.  This was not a big event for here.

Me and my brother we're talking about the last few years and the extreme weather events. Something has definitely shifted and we've really had some extreme cold and heavy snow events the last few years.  My average snow here the last 3 years is about 30 inches. Pretty impressive for the lowlands of western Washington.

Nice car!  😄  What year?  Is it a TDI?  6M or DSG?

I really wanted the grey but they were impossible to find when I was shopping.

Edit:  LOL I missed your "car twin" response!

2014 TDI with a DSG! I’ve had it since 2019 and other than a sunroof leak right after I bought it I’ve had absolutely no issues with it, it’s an awesome car, the cold has been a little rough on the battery though. Funnily enough I love the black, the gray is a good color though especially with the rims I have.

Good engine. Make sure to have the plenum cleaned and the egr passage cleaned, they get clogged up real easy.

As long as you're getting more snow that counts ;)

It is weird tho, when I lived in Hillsboro they had a sub freezing high once every 2 years? Sometimes for 2 years in a row.

Sitting at 5.3" so far here.

Two subfreezing highs at least but it appears that we're likely going to be a big regional loser for snowfall this winter, much like 2018-19.

Nice!  mine is a 2013 with the 6M.  I've dropped the Tiguan suspension, GTI rear sway bar and Osiris skid plate on it.  I got mine in 2019 as a graduation gift for myself.  I got it set up to get out and do a lot of road trips for camping and kayaking, but Covid, then a layoff derailed that.  I'm trying to get vacation built up at my new job so I can venture out this summer.

Definitely take care of that pano and shade.  Keep it greased up, seals healthy, and keep the drains clear.  I do a lot of my own work, and have fixed most of the weaknesses in the drain design.

I admit moderately warm Januaries are dime a dozen. But the last time I had one with a mean +5 or so degrees from normal was 2015 or 2014. There have been a couple Decembers do that more recently at KLMT.

Yeah, December 2019 was a torch fest. Parts of September and October were colder and snowier. Makes no sense.

The temperature in Fairbanks, AK has dropped 85 degrees since Dec. 27. From +40° F to -45° F. The massive ridge that brought us cold and snow also brought unusually warm air to Alaska, but has shifted now.

Flat out crazy year.  I really think there is something to this solar grand minimum thing.  It seems to have thrown us into a much more perturbed regime.

Just got wild here, dumping rain, sleet or hail and some snow flakes mixed in too.  Breezier than it’s been all day. Ground now covered in ice. This is fun…

Thanks for the heads up! Would have missed it from my windowless office.
