Of course.  I think people are more used to the cold just flat out ending around here after a major event.  Not the case this time.

True... there is a 3-day transition period this time.   But then it appears that more normal weather returns.

Yup the NOAA 8–14 day temp outlook has us with a likely chance at above average temperatures. I would say expect a really soggy January until maybe the last week or two...

It’s 39 at BFI and 41 at SEA. Still chilly by Seattle’s standard but last week’s arctic airmass is gone.

32.4 at 2:30 under sunny sky's.  I'm impressed.  A little elevation makes a huge difference on a day like today.

I'm a little confused how few people are talking about our current weather. The atmosphere is incredibly unstable right now, and many people will be experiencing extreme weather today. High chances for thunderstorms, maybe even thundersnow.202201032206.jpg

That’s what I’m under right now. It’s mostly snow with a little bit of hail mixed in. Here’s a radar image.

I think later this week we transition into a wet mild pattern then flip into a cooler pattern with some snow chances at the very end of January into February.

I love our microclimates. I think you’re most likely going to do well again tonight with the threats of snow looming again. 500’+ should definitely be good.

These showers are packing quite a punch. Downtown Bellevue getting some quick accumulations.

That's so awesome. I've been in a few brief snow downpours with good accumulation before, they're one of the best extreme weather events.

You'd expect a CZ to form with all this cold onshore flow behind last night's cold front, but models don't really show it and the radar shows no signs yet.

With how unstable the atm is at the moment, seems pretty likely that one will form at some point here

I quite like where I live, but D**n, some of these snow pics are making me re-think that! lol I am a *tad* jealous of some of these snow totals. What we had last week was great, I am so thankful it stayed around for as long as it did. I sure would love to experience a big snow storm though. A foot or more in a night, and have it stay around a few days. It seems like, usually, any snow we get either doesn't stick....or if it does stick, it melts by the next day.

Hail keeps stopping and starting here, very abruptly. Pretty crazy to listen to start and stop hitting the skylights in the building.
