Windy out

A single gust of wind just now changed the temperature from 49F to 66F in less than five minutes here. I'm literally watching my Davis console right now, the temperature is rising about every five seconds. This is the fastest I've ever seen the temperature change in a very short time. Just while typing this message, I had to change the current temperature seven times.

For some immediate coastal areas the hottest day was Wednesday. Today might not hit 80 here in the 90266. The car wash now reads 74.

There’s always guesswork when you predict how offshore winds will affect towns right on the water. There were many days in spring 2019 where Malibu basked in high 70s and low 80s while the South Bay remained socked in. And I’ve seen the reverse during shallow marine layer days — last summer there were a handful of days in July where Malibu hovered at 59!!! We were below average but not quite as extreme on those days.
