Unusual south to north burn off going on today where  Torrance/Redondo  is sunnier than Marina Del Rey

Projected storm totals for Monday-Tuesday have been downgraded from 1-1.5" for my area to 0.7-1".

California Water selling for $867 per acre foot on the commodities exchange. Looks like maybe speculation around NOAA long range forecasts may be a bigger factor in price moves than Cal farmers hedging to minimize risk. The price does take a modest tumble after the Xmas AR; but why would it go to 670 or so and stay there during the very dry Jan-Feb?

Just heard some thunder.

All the heavy tstorm cells weakened when it reaches the coast, but getting a nice steady light to moderate rain with big rain drops.

Unfortunately the thunderstorm forecast for most coastal areas is a big bust today. I only heard one distant thunder sound and all the thunderstorms off the coast dissipated once it reach land.

Only 0.19" so far. A drop in the bucket compared to the 0.7-1" forecasted.

No rain since 4 hours ago. Doppler radar does show more rain about to hit us, however. Rain currently passing over the Santa Ana Mountains. Mr Marine Layer is probably getting drenched in Orange County.
