Interesting skies this evening.

Another mixture of monsoonal moisture and marine layer clouds this morning.

The marine layer clouds have retreated offshore for the time being, and my grandma approves. She’s from the valley and isn’t a big fan of the gloom either.

The monsoonal moisture is still flowing in but it’s focused a bit farther south today.

Increased humidity is preventing the temperature from dropping tonight. Still stuck at 70F after midnight.

I'll be honest, I'm.... not too impressed with rain potential in the Inland Empire today. I think storms will flourish over the desert before fizzling out as they head over the canyon into MoVal. I actually think the Inland Empire has a better shot tomorrow, despite the SPC not thinking so.

Wow! Woke up and it’s cloudy…but it’s not marine layer. It’s solidly moisture clouds. Of all the days for the satellite feed to be busted…

Hmm, we could actually get something!

Sticky! Stepped outside to a feeling I hadn’t experienced in quite some time. Mid-60s dews are back.

The coast never had a chance for anything really. I was skeptical of the Inland Empire even getting anything, and so far I look like I'm probably right.

San Bernardino Mountains & Lucerne Valley, the only place that has really gotten anything notable today. I can see that from here too.

Deep layer moisture is in place today, but it's not a marine layer.

Looks like the slight thunderstorm chance is a bust so far. Only seeing cool mid level clouds and virga, thats it.

It brought some warmth to the coast, took a few degrees off the heat inland, and pleased the eyes. So I wouldn’t call it a total bust.

Car wash sign reads 80! Though nearby areas are reporting 77 which feels more accurate.

This stretch of coast from Torrance to Santa Monica sees fewer 80 degree days than even San Diego on average. Manhattan/Hermosa Beach and Santa Monica especially, as I believe their weather stations are on piers.

They basically measure the ocean temperature.
