Marine layer has been recovering with the lack of monsoonal moisture. Still sunny here, for now

The extended forecasts have been flip flopping over the potential for a monsoonal resurgence. And now they’re leaning away from it again. Looks like August will stay boring, but hey, at least it’s not Fogust.

Might be the last we get before the season wraps up, as they don’t have any major pushes in sight—and confidence is building in a cooling trend:

Dense fog and 63F here.

Pacific Ocean: “Didja miss me? 😝

For now they’re saying the heat continues inland but beaches will crash. Passing weak trough combined with shallow marine layer is gonna crank up the onshore flow and make for some stark coast-inland temperatures differences again. Especially if SSTs take a dive over the next few days.

The weekend will be rough with a possibility of Fogust conditions. Rumblings of below average temps everywhere for the first time in a long time. Some beaches may not clear at all!
