Lots of dew this morning. Drip drip. I had to squeegee my car to see out the back window.

it will be hot; but NWS says some beaches could be stuck under a fog wave and be spared the heat. The ocean has cooled significantly, increasing the uncertainty.

Common with the start of a heatwave especially if it immediately follows an upwelling event. Our historic early September heatwave also had a slow start with some localized fog before it really exploded.

I saw what looked like smoke to my north two days ago, but wasn’t sure where it was coming from.

Today could be the hottest day, though unlike last time the coastal areas have been largely spared. The ocean has cooled significantly, at least in the outer waters, which will take the edge off.
