Seasonal total is now at 23.85" surpassing the epic water year of 2016-2017! This is now the 7th wettest water year since records started! It is common in late March and April for the marine layer to become more dominant after a storm passes, as the flow tends to remain onshore more frequently as we get into spring. However, if we get a cold storm, then it may clear after the storm for a while before the airmass modifies. It depends on the time of year/season and how above or below average the current season total is (for the current point in the season, not for the entire water year). I don't have any "legend" I use or anything. If I ever have a season total go past 20 inches, or receive excessive rain early in the season, I'd use the color blue - which I've never had to do yet.
