Downtown LA is 71, which is like a mini heat wave this year

Meanwhile it is snowing in Shasta Lake.

Warm and not a cloud in the sky today. You wouldn't know there was a storm coming in about 12 hours.

Updated my storm total and season total (added 0.14") after checking and emptying my manual rain gauge, which doesn't lie. Showed 3.05" as opposed to my previous total of 2.91". I had emptied my manual rain gauge just before the previous storms. The bulk of that precipitation very likely fell on March 21st. It isn't uncommon for my Davis VP2 rain gauge to underreport during heavy rainfall and in windy conditions.

March 2023 is also now my wettest March on record, surpassing March 2020 with 5.42" currently. That total will only increase over the next several days.

Earlier today the near 60 degree sun angle was still not enough to avoid the shadow of the next door skyscraper.

This evening however the sunshine hit the north facing wall that it fails to hit for six months of the year.

Main front has narrowed and weakened significantly after moving south of Point Conception. It was twice as wide further upstate. It also appears to have slowed down somewhat.

Of the 31 days in March 2023, 27 of them were cooler-than-average here. Ended the month with 5.96".

Cahuilla Mountain, east of Temecula and near Anza peaking at 5,635 FT above sea level, is very close in elevation to Santiago Peak (5,687 FT) - driving to work yesterday afternoon I could see Cahuilla Mountain to the east covered with snow visibly down to at least 4,000 FT. So, I would imagine Santiago Peak is covered in it as well. Palomar Mountain (6,140 FT) also covered in snow from here.

Vehicles from nearby higher-elevation towns to the east all came down here with snow still on the roofs of their cars yesterday.
