Here is an interesting article hydro battery - about the hydro pumping battery, the nations biggest and growing energy storage method. This could be used to power an east (wet) to west (dry) aqueduct. A percentage of the solar and wind energy stored would be used to power the lift and overcome the friction of the water flow up and down mountains along the route from the southeast (75+ inches per year) to AZ and SoCal (15+ inches per year). That stored energy not consumed by the aqueduct flow would enter the grid along the path of the aqueduct.

Graph update a little more than halfway into January now. Note the steady climb in low temperatures since the beginning of the month. We haven't had a decently cold night in several weeks now.

It's very hard to get a test these days, but right now I'm not feeling that horrible. What comes after the Omega variant?

Get well soon. Omicron is usually mild so I wouldn’t worry too much. But it pays to quarantine anyway.

When they run out of Greek letters: I’d use the Phoenician alphabet. The names are very similar to the Hebrew ones but they look different.

The flowering pears are a few weeks ahead of schedule. I wonder if we’ll also get an early Sakura (cherry blossom) season at Torrance’s annual festival?

So far it's just like an annoying cold. I never get really bad colds and haven't had the flu in more than 20 years. Hopefully that's the worst it will get.
