107°F here right now. Low was 76.9°F this morning, warmest since July 7th 2018 at my station (low 78.4°F) and third warmest low I've ever recorded (second was 77.1°F on August 2nd 2017). Temperature hovered at 79°F all night long last night except for a brief dip to 77°F at 6 AM.

Decent cell down by Lake Elsinore. Not hoping for anything today. At least that little earthquake this morning was exciting. 106°F.

Just barely missed me to my immediate north. There’s actually two of them, side by side.

Temp is 107F right now but heat index is showing 118F all of a sudden.

Looks like you guys may have some real weather to talk about soon with that tropical storm.  Could be interesting.

An extraordinary morning indeed: peak of a heatwave with a possible direct hit from a tropical remnant! 85 here already with no hint of ocean air and Javier’s fringes are arriving. Strap in, this could be…interesting.

Last time we saw anything close to this was mid July 2015 when Dolores’ remnants moved in. And even that didn’t bring significant rain to my coastal area. In 2017 or 2018 another remnant brought showers and stickiness…but could we see real soaking rain? Fingers crossed.

Update: this seems unlikely, as Javier is expected to make a sharp turn out to sea and dissipate.
