00Z ECMWF shows 1-2 inches of rain in Seattle on the last couple days of the month... would be enough to avoid a very dry February.

Way north compared to the 12z. No shocker there. Seattle will end up mainly dry too when it’s all said and done. Portland looking good for the driest February ever.

Rain was really coming down before 8pm. Now it's pretty dry with temps around 37° in Kirkland.

Nah... Seattle does just fine for rain.   SEA is still +3.10 for the water year.    I am sure another wet period is ahead.

Talk about the Pacific being shut down.  Might as well be a brick wall out there.  This setup will bring lows well below freezing for many areas during week two.  Average mins over the next two weeks should be pretty impressive.

Thankfully I never had much in the way of snow expectations from this coming cold snap.  It will be impressive simply from a cold standpoint though.  I will be surprised if we don't see some more snow before winter is really done though.

The models are showing a very strong SSW event over the next 10 days.  Probably the reason for the extreme blocking showing up on the models for early March.

EPO and PNA forecasts are absolutely tanking on the ensemble means now.

Wow!   I was wondering if that was snow over you on the radar.

We have a coating of snow here and also 32.     I woke up to check conditions and now I am up for the day!

Hmmm 36 here and precip is nearby. I think based on the models that little meso low is supposed to drop south this morning.

Radar loop over the last few hours clearly shows rotation and a meso low currently around Port Townsend and slipping south.

Tempting to be “sick” today and either stay home and see what happens or drive out to kitsap peninsula and do a hike this morning. I missed December so I’d be fine going to see some snow today.

Too bad it’ll take a bit for the colder air to work in. I’ll probably have to drive to have a good chance lol.

Looks like maybe some decent precip down here today... Not quite an inch of snow overnight.

Takes for ever to upload pics with only my 1 bar cell signal since my satellite dish is covered. Pics don’t want to upload but I’m trying! Also it appears that all of the Lake Goodwin area is powerless. I still have power, I have a feeling they got even more than me.

EDIT: Pics loaded.

A friend on FB just reported 8” of snow and no power on Camano Island. I’m guessing at least 8” or more at my old house with a report like that. Very February 2018 like.

Looks like it’s real close here…even this afternoon if there was a heavy enough shower it’d probably be snow.

Hopefully the SSW can shake things up and get us out of the ridging and dry weather we’ve seen the last month and a half +
