Tom
Here is an updated list of snowfall thus far this season. By far, parts of NE/IA/SD have been above normal in the snowfall dept this season. It'll be interesting to see how much we can add to it going forward into March. http://www.weatherbell.com/images/imguploader/images/Screen_Shot_2016_02_23_at_6_28_20_AM.png
CentralNebWeather
I am about 75 miles Southwest of Grand Island in Central Nebraska. I would say that 31 inch number is fairly close for my location. 18 inches of that was the Feb.1-2 Groundhog Day Storm. Still hoping for one more 6+ inch storm. In this area I could really live with 40 inches. Not alot compared to other places but good for us.
westMJim
If anyone still cares as of today the official seasonal snow fall total here at Grand Rapids is now 51.7”. Of that amount 10.1” has fall in March. My guess back on November 7th for GRR was 57.5” At Detroit the seasonal total is now at 34.0” At Milwaukee the total is now 33.3” and Chicago its now at 30.1” BTW my November 7th guesses for Milwaukee was 42.5” and for Chicago it was for 28.5”

CentralNebWeather
Seems to be the case around here that mid March to mid April lately has had a decent storm in recent years and many of the largest in our history come during this time frame. Though a lot of the time, east of me gets rain to mix.

Geos
Just a few selected area won. El Niño's usually do focus the snowfall surplus in a few areas. This being one of them and definitely from James's area out towards Sioux Falls. Northern areas of the sub forum aren't quite done with snow including MI. Geos
As it looks of now, the snow is done for the season. I compiled the remaining information for the contest and there is a clear winner. Maxim. He was within 5% of the total snowfall tally between all the cities combined. He also picked 9 snowfall totals that were close to the actually tallies. How I graded this was is I took each person's city pick for snowfall and compared it against the actual value. Person that was closest to that snowfall total got the credit/point.Nobody was really tied at the end, but both Okwx2k4 and CentralNebWeather both had two locations close to being right. WestMJim was in 2nd place. He was closest on all three tiebreakers with being really close on #1 and #3.3rd place I would give to CentralNebweather - OKWx2k4 was close behind him. CNW was closer on 2 out of the 3 tiebreakers and was at 127% of the total snowfall city tally. Special mention to Tom, he nailed the seasonal total for Sioux Falls! 2 Quote Mercer Island, 350 ft 2021-2022: 11.6", 02/21 2020-2021: 15.6" 2019-2020: ~10" 2018-2019 winter snowfall total: 29.5" 2017-2018: 9.0", 2016-2017: 14.0"

OKwx2k4
Yeah. That was a lot of fun although I did a horrible job. Lol. Geos
Yeah that was fun. I think I underestimated the el Niño and its warmth. jaster220
Nice job on this GEOS, and congrats to the top (3) "pickers"! I don't get into these contests but I made a call for SMI and a pretty bold one actually. Went out on a limb that mby in Marshall over to Lake Michigan would be 150% or better for the season. Not surprisingly, that call busted (mby sits at 115%), but one county to my north on up through the Thumb region actually did get to that threshold so my idea was good, just missed the "target zone". Interesting strong el-Nino, first in my lifetime where I ended up with above avg totals for snow! Crappy as it was, that's something noteworthy! Oh, and NEMI really did well with this pattern too. Alpena had their snowiest winter in many years. Amazing after all the summer heat over the weekend, just north of Lk. CentralNebWeather
The Groundhog Blizzard of Feb. 1-2 really saved my prediction. The 18 inches in that storm was over 50% of the year's total in 1 storm. The rest of the year was smaller, nuisance storms, but nothing of significance.
