During very long-lasting inversions they can last a week or more, it really gets old (in Eugene which gets some of the worst ones in the PNW). That's great wheelbarrow ice weather. But you have to scrape your car off and warm it up every time you use it. That gets old especially if your car is parked outside and doesn't warm up quickly. These long inversions have been rare though for the last 5+ years.
Inversions are great after a snowy/cold/arctic pattern. It was fairly clear this ridge was going to prograde over us, was just hoping we could get a solid cold pool going into it.
I hope it won't be too long. But I'm pretty fatigued about missing that event and also a few others by being out of town. If you want it to snow a lot, just buy me a ticket out of town and it will possibly deliver.
