Western Washington state is easily the worst place on earth to forecast weather. You never really know what's going to happen until it's happening in real time. Way too many micro climates around here. A lot of my family & freinds have stopped asking me about the weather the last couple years because I've changed my attitude to "IDK" because I really don't know. Nobody does.

We spent the first three weeks of December 2005 below freezing. It didn't seem very zonal. 2007 was definitely more on the zonal side.

This is my fault. I told a couple coworkers that I was looking at the first week of December for an elevated chance of cold & snow. The models immediately flipped the next day. I'm sorry everyone.

I was just looking at the satellite picture and noticed something. There is some very cold air coming off Canada into the Pacific. You only see those type of clouds when there is really cold air. I'm also posting a screenshot of how cold it is too.

12z Euro looks like it's taking a step towards retrogression at day 10. I don't care what it shows beyond with the new, silly extended forecast.
