Can we avoid a phase 6 MJO? Models have trended towards the MJO stalling out in phase 5 ( which is cold in a la nina) then moving into the null phase. The stormy part of the pattern will return around Christmas so avoiding phase 6 is important unless you like brown. Phase 5 MJO

Models yesterday were taking most of the moisture with the clipper off to my east. This morning some seem to be bringing it back.

Areas to our north have torched so long by that time any airmass that gets to use will be so moderated it will just bring average temps (see 00z euro)

I'm sure the snow weenies over in the eastern GL's snow belts are loving this pattern bc while they have seen several big lake effect snow events over the last number of years, this one, however, has some legs and the snow pack won't nuke away from a warm spell. It appears the cold is locked for a couple weeks or more.
