Come to think of it, the transition months really stole the show in what was otherwise a pretty boring year wx wise around here. Besides what's happening this month, March had 6 tornadoes in my county along with a dirt/dust storm that originated in Texas.
Night Shift 6z GFS in 1 hour 22 minutes. I expect minor changes Day 4-6. It would be amazing if the PV lobe didn't eject into Alaska and eventually into the Gulf of Alaska. Just drop down into Yukon. Thanks.
I'm located in the darkest purple area in northwest IN. This is before a flake falls from the current storm.
There will most likely be places just to my south that have a 20" November, perhaps even approaching 25" if this storm can overperform just a little bit. That would be more snow than what fell all of last winter, by a fairly decent margin.
It's almost hard to fathom. Could probably run some kind of statistical analysis on the return rate for a November that is this snowy in this area. My guess would be it's at least a 1 in 200 year event, if not 1 in 300 years. Truly a remarkable, historic month.
