There is some hype about potential severe weather Wednesday around here, but the models are showing a giant nothingburger for Iowa. All of the CAMs have the storms in Illinois and Missouri, despite the front being well to the nw.
eastern WA (Spokane/CDA Metro) is similar in these regards, our summers are supported by the Rathdrum prairie aquifer which is been running low for 4 years
Vancouver island is very similar especially the south. We don’t have the higher elevation mountains that a lot of the rest of the PNW has. So we don’t have that higher elevation snowpack melt to draw on later towards summer.
