Fall 2022 less so - it was very quick no doubt, but that’s not uncommon in the West with the beginning of inversion season and the collapse of the 4CH. Less so in California, and even here where all the latent heat in the ocean keeps our zonal flow pretty warm into early winter, but the intermountain West tends to collapse from summer to winter very quickly.
