To my recollection, have to go back to Feb '11 since any part of Motown beat this area in a large storm. Considering you will get at least double my 4" total, might be Dec '74 since that happened! Then there's this stat- only 1 in 88 clippers produce the kind of synoptic totals you are getting. So yeah, greater Detroit is beating some steep odds with this very nice storm..

Model trends would suggest west of there as well. Might want to be within a couple miles of the lake for the best stuff as models have it retreating/hugging the shore with time.

We got about 2.5 inches or so over the course of the day - one of those light accumulation days but snowed off and on all afternoon and evening. Wish it was six or seven but it looks great out there and very festive!

Storm recap for mby. Per ASOS the 2 periods of snow totaled about 12 hrs, with +SN limited to an hour around 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Still, when I went out to clear my walks and parking area about 10 pm, it was still coming down at a nice clip and with the wind and cold temps felt like a true "storm" and more like middle of January! Had to dress in full winter gear like in a NMI December.
Nice little storm and pleased with the 2nd half rally that got me to 4.5"

From GRR's disco, more headlines for the LES counties are almost a given and somebody will sweet-spot with another 6+ (Prolly Allegan Cnty if had to guess). 2-3" for Marshall would be frosting on the 6-layer cake. Some of my original 0.4 hvy dusting from the 7th is at the bottom with five days of measurable snow since..
