SPC just issued a Meso. with 80% Tornado Watch issuance likely for most of the CWA. Wondering if it will be a PDS watch, though I am young, I can't remember the last time in February my area, this far N, was in an enhanced risk for severe weather. Definitely going to be active to say the least. 

Dear God, please shift North  by another 50 miles. I might be the only person from Chicago hoping this doesn't pan out to be anything major. A chemistry final at 9 A.M. on Saturday + this = horrible. Commuting an hour into the city would just be a nightmare. Oh well, backside snows after 11 A.M. on Saturday are welcome . What a crazy way to begin winter, just went outside and it was BRUTAL. 

I know this question may seem pretty comical but are we thinking this will be an overnight threat on Monday or pushing into a Tuesday /Tuesday night event, for Cook county and the city of Chicago? It looks like the cut-off gradient is steep with people to the N/W of the city cashing in (at least on this run). Hopefully, the city can get something going if not so much with the storm, at least some LES. 

Really excited for such an early storm, it's almost like it wanted to make sure it would miss the weekly commutes of people and give everyone a little "taste," of winter when they can enjoy it on the weekend. Really can't remember a November storm this big since I was a kid then again I'm only 19 lol. Hopefully this season brings a lot of these! I think my favorite part is the fact that it'll be 50 and sunny on Thanksgiving, I absolutely love when the weather shifts like this. 

I have -12 for the low tonight and 2 for the high tomorrow followed by -13 Friday! Crazy temps. Thinking some schools will close but mine has said they are likely staying open.

Can't catch a break with these storms. East coast is just getting DESTROYED this year.

This was just a great one, the second best storm in my lifetime! According to the snowfall reports St. Charles received 16" I would like to think we got a little more lol! It's always fun watching the cleanup now, many side streets are still buried but main streets have been cleaned up pretty good.

DuPage county doing really well with these Lake Effect bands.  I'm sitting underneath another one right now.

I'm under the one in Kane haha it's like it broke off and said let's give this guy some more snow! Still up to the N of the lake in Kenosha and just making it's way ever so slowly to the S. 

Still snowing in St. Charles, I can't believe this. I definitely think there is over 15" pushing close to the 20" mark.

Edit: heavy band of LES over me right now, Tom you maybe right with getting additional LES in here. 

Thought I was done here in St. Charles and it's been ripping for the past 15 minutes might get another 1"

WOW Cps is closed an area shutdown basically. 

I don't see it going that far inland, maybe eastern DeKalb/McHenry, but Cook/Lake are golden...

Schools closing for tomorrow Dekalb and now U-46 districts closed. And if it pushes that far inland I'm eastern Kane so I'd be PUMPED!

Lehs picking up near MKE right now...winds are slowly starting to shift more NNE from the NE.  I'm kinda excited to see what this lake plume will look like.  Skilling's RPM model had it cranking around midnight.

Tom, seeing that I saw close to what his RPM showed for additional snowfall from 2:20 p.m. onward today, I am thinking his RPM will win out and we will see that lake plume develop and pummel the city; wonder how far inland it will go. Just got a report from my dad that the police have shut down 47 going W. 

Crazy band right now! Maybe 2" an hour again with this one with huge flakes. 

I am speechless. Flakes are giant and near whiteout right now. Easily 2" an hour rates! Skilling's RPM may come true! I am right above the I-88 corridor in St. Charles and there is no doubt we will hit 15" I dare say 20"!

Man this is nuts. Skilling's RPM at 2:20 showed another 8.8" for most areas lol! I don't think they will be that high but another 3-6" is a safe bet! I got to be pushing 13" now it would be crazy to hit 20"! Blowing snow has made it impossible to measure, visibility is dropping fast. 

Don't think there will be any accumulating snow on Monday night....

My bad, I thought LOT hinted towards it. But, appears it'll be dying out if it reaches us. 

What are we thinking of Lake Effect? LOT just updated snow fall graphic shows another 6-8" on the lake, 4-6" for the rest of the area. But, that is ending Tuesday and takes into account Monday nights possible snow fall. Either way looks like this will be the biggest storm for me since the GHD blizzard might end up with 15" plus whatever else we see this week (snowfall chances are on the rise)! 

Going ballistic right now! Heavy bands; keep getting stronger! Can't believe this. Last time I saw at 11:00 a.m. Sugar Grove in Kane had around 11" I'm close by so definitely looking at 11-13" now!

Really filling in to the S heavy banding setting up as well I think we have another 3/4 hours of good snow.

LOT extends blizzard warning. Calling for 13" today for me! Looks like some serious wording. Like the tone they are setting. Not one road I have been on has been plowed recently.

Still a little concerned about the Dry Slot but I'm North of I-88 I'm quite happy with how much snow has fallen so far.

According to LOT I had 8" at 9:00 a.m. This is the heaviest snow I've had for the whole event so looking at probably 9-10" now. Man so close to breaking 12"!

I'm in Kane and I can guess about 6-8"; really hasn't stopped coming down since 8 p.m. last night, noticing a big gap in the snow to the S. is it suppose to back build?
