Drier not dryer.
Autocorrect, I'll fix that... mr.daaay

It drove to the lee side of the Cascades.
So it can't ever be drier than normal on the east side of the cascades. Gotcha
-
A trough and strong cold air advection is causing that fire. Better to have calm and humid conditions under a ridge.
I wonder how it got so dry before the trough?

I once let a homeless person into someone's house thinking they were delivering something.

Next time you go to buy a house and see that many western hemlocks, it means it's a wet area. Just for future referenceSun!

Funny how Trump can really bring a weather forum together.

Perpetual drizzle here this morning, 0.02" so far. Probabaly the last precip for at least a month.
-
I thought it rained a tiny but on the 8th last year. Or maybe that was 2 years ago?Pretty much the whole 7/29-9/7 period. A smoky, nasty blur.
I had a lot of time off around then too, and it really put a damper on outdoor activity. Lots of camping under brown skies.

You feel that we should be feeling a certain way based on what you're experiencing? HmmmmOf course!
But I actually do feel that way right now. The difference has really been striking lately.

You talk about hyperbole being met with hyperbole and then post stuff like this. It's very hypocritical.GFS MOS shows SEA averaging right at climo for the highs over the next 7 days.
We are just excited for the potential for more sun up here... a small taste of what you people take for granted down there every single day.
-
Thermal inertia... when do we typically get big snowstorms? Before or after the winter solstice? We are just jealous. I don't mind some summer rain... but 5 or 6 days straight with solid clouds in the middle of summer and during the longest days just pisses me off. Not even afternoon sun breaks.
I suspect we are about to be rewarded. Which is what I said in mid-April too.
Our rewards involve the entire region usually so buckle up!

To Matt today was just another cold freak meltdown. Special warm bias filtering glasses.
He should consider how we've acted with all the sun lately. All we've said is how beautiful it is despite needing rain.
-
This cloud meltdown will be remembered for quite some time.
-
Cloud cover is serious business.
Especially when the average temps don't show it so you have to make sure everyone knows it is, in fact, not sunny.
-
You've had way more sun than us up here. It's been overcast up here all day today and pretty much all day yesterday.
I'm just poking a little fun, kinda like when you tell Jesse he should move to Baffin Island.

Perfectly sunny all day, 76 degrees. Lots of ideal weather lately, I just wish it hadn't been so dry in May and late April.
-
But it was CLOUDY this morning. Waaaah.
And that is the difference between looking at the big picture or just what's happening in your backyard.

Imagine looking at a map of height anomalies compared to the 1981-2010 average that wasn't 80% red. Nuff saidKnock me over with a feather.
You would think the warm freaks would realize that climate change is on their side at some point.

I said after the 4th because that ULL off the OR coast seems a bit more intact and is closer to us on this run.It way warmer and drier for the 4th as well... compared to the GFS at least.
Looks like a little warmer than previous afterwards as well as you mentioned.
-
Euro is running.
Looks like it's going to trend warmer after the 4th.
-
Imagine a trough that big.At hour 126 on the GFS, the only states in the lower 48 to completely escape being under the 594dm Death Dome are Washington and Oregon (Idaho, Nevada and Florida are on the edge).
