Got one of those random stationary pop up severe storms just dumping over top of me right now. Love this!!!

Brother lives in Owasso, OK just north of Tulsa. Just saw a huge funnel cloud when we FaceTimed that luckily went back up before it went over his house. Same funnel cloud that the NWS has confirmed as a large and extremely dangerous tornado on the ground as we speak. That was terrifying.

46F with a wind chill of 38F. This is ridiculous.
Yikes that sounds terrible!

Iowa getting screwed once again this morning. That is one impressive looking line heading towards Chicago. Would love to see some pictures from Chicago!
Based on how these storms developed, I am not feeling good about this "active" pattern here. We will see how things evolve here. Cedar Rapids for whatever reason struggles to get good storms here. I'm getting tired of it. We do get good rain here, but not so much in the way of severe weather.
So far it looks nothing like that shelf over mad town, but it’s gettinng close now so we’ll see

Ha call me crazy but I think that was the year they called off the spring game?! That was the Cantore jinx also as storms didn't stay discrete and really was a bust day. Cantore was in town of course thinking it was gonna be a big day for us......
Yep! That was the craziest day ever though, even though morning convection ruined it. I have a screenshot somewhere of the SPC saying strong tornadoes are likely. Strongest wording I think I've ever seen tbh!

Whoa, don't see this everyday.
NAM is screaming that Nebraska is the place to be for severe weather on Friday. This is going to get interesting -- no doubt someone out in the plains will get a moderate risk, but I wouldn't be overly surprised if we saw our first high risk of the year.

It's 48 and windy here, cloudy, miserable. This is honestly ridiculous. I haven't experienced this consistently cold weather from an April/May stretch since I've lived in the midwest/plains. To be honest, I don't think I've ever had to wear a jacket in this month, but it feels like almost everyday I've had to (except Sunday), and it's constantly just been like this. I'm obviously exaggerating but like COME ON. We've barely touched the 70 degree temps and it's MAY. This needs to stop, like soon please.

we got some really heavy lake effect last night. It was unreal, the heaviest snow I've seen by a long shot. So cool to see how it was a mile wide band that I was just getting buried under. Grass already coming back out and looking greener than ever -- i guess on the bright side, snow this late always makes the grass nice and green right after.
I am kind of pissed at the SPC though. I was all excited about that outbreak this week and now they took us out completely of the slight risk area. Lameeeee

Heaviest snow I’ve seen all year without a doubt!

Yup, dat -NAO is going to be blossom and cause havoc with the modeling. Nonetheless, this would be quite a snowstorm for the heartland....
Noooooo keep that away from me please. GROSS. I want spring temps screw any sort of winter, even if it's a blizzard, so over it!

Can this system just not though lol I just need it to be not 40 degrees windy and cloudy. The worst weather. I'm so beyond ready for 60s and 70s it's not even real, I wanna run on the lake again and not freeze!!!

700 pigs and they’ve only found 14 alive at this farm. Early estimates of agricultural loss in Nebraska alone is expected to be over 1 billion dollars
I HATE seeing this. It breaks my heart, all the little baby cattle that got swept away too :'( :'( just a sad situation across the board. Heart goes out to everyone out there, what an awful event this has been.

I am honestly pissed off right now. The national news has NOTHING about the flooding going on in Nebraska, it's absolutely absurd and a disgrace to their credibility. Last time I checked Nebraska was part of the United States, and their residents are also US Citizens. This is a disaster for several parts of the state, and yet, no word. It's ridiculous.

Chicago just got upgraded to an Enhanced Risk of severe weather with tornadoes being the primary cause (hatched risk). This storm is unreal, it's like 55 degrees outside and yet were still looking at tornadoes based off of the mass amount of shear this thing is producing. I'm pumped!

The Oma-dome has turned into a snow magnet this year. I still feel the heaviest snow with this one is going to barely miss us to the north, however it seems to be that kind of Winter around here.
Right? It can't even be like a joke anymore, you guys just broke a record for most snow in 3 months. If anything, it's completely a magnet. Meanwhile in Chicago........

Omaha Eppley rechecked their data for February and had miscalculated at some point, so what looked like being short a couple of tenths ended up being a record February and December through February snowfall
Awh! I’m soooooo happy for you guys ha ha........
**cries**

I hope severe weather season brings some action around here! Anyone have any insights or thoughts towards it? March is usually a pretty good month for it to ramp up.

Almost guarantee it’ll dissipate by the time it gets here — would love a good rain though omg it’s so dry
