  1. of course because they used to get some amazing snowstorm in May back in the 1600's so I really think we are due!!
  2. Perfect timing for the winter pattern I said would occur in the spring. We will have the perfect setup then but sadly it will be mid to late March.
  3. I honestly think it will not go that direction this run but maybe the next if the new pattern shown by the GFS/GEM is accurate. There is often up to a 12 to 24 hr delay before the EURO swings.
  4. Yeah... I peak about mid January after that I know realistically getting anything meaningful around here in out modern climate is like winning the lottery. Anything that does happen this time of year is almost guaranteed to be short lived and marginal specially when it comes to sustainable snow. The only thing I really care about is snow in the mountains at this point. If we get lowland surprises then great just let it stick around longer than 24 hours before going to . That is just a waste.
  5. lol! Honestly, I have seen it play out this way a number of times... you have a very good chance of being right!! we shall see soon enough.
  6. Personally I am fine with this... The quick snow to rain transitions just plain suck so would prefer just to move on. If it still snows I am fine with that too but at this point I could care less either way.
  7. Just remember this when you start attacking people for feeling the way you feel now and post about it. Karma is a *****. Maybe you can relate to this in the future and maybe not be such a jerk.
  8. I honestly have to admit living here as long as I have things play out like this more than they don't... For now it is a wait and see but this is something many of us have been through many times. At this point I just do not care anymore. I was not all that excited about a snow to quick slop transition anyway... Maybe this improves our chances for something better, maybe not.
  9. Yeah the radar lighting up there. No snow north of there and does not look like there will be today.
  10. Agreed... I expect maybe 6 to 10 hours of snow max from the time it starts to when it ends. Then freezing rain if not just plain old rain. The more snow we get the more painful the transition might be due to rain on the snow.
  11. Yeah I have been going through the runs and looks like it could be around 6 to10 hours of snow before it turns to freezing rain/ or just rain. So could see some decent accumulations. To bad it will not stick around for a few days afterward.
  12. I should have clarified 850MB temps were warmer on Friday on... NO biggie still nice and chilly. Was not correlating it to your backyard temps.
  13. 00z GFS looks to me warmer than previous runs later on out to hour 120. Still fine it will be plenty cold just not as cold as some previous runs. Now there real question... Where will that low go? Hopefully further south.
  14. This is exactly What I have been hoping for! It is very possible but not what normally happens as they things almost always want to go north... I am loving the possibility!!!!
  15. I was seeing the same thing, along with radar returns off coast heading west. It would be a bit to warm. The key is having any precip left by the time the colder air arrives tonight. Going to be fun to watch!!
  16. It also appears to be further west. So many details! --- ultimately it looks to head right into central Canada. Quick warm up here.
  17. The 12z does want to keep us colder a bit longer. D**n I can only dream that we do not warm up after the (potential) snow this weekend!
  18. I have to admit it will be fun to watch things develop tonight. Maybe these showers from this will be stronger than expected. . Be nice to see a nice boundary line of snow set up on the front as it pushes south today. I will admit that QPF for this does not look great but I am up for a miracle. Could make for interesting weather after the game.
  19. lol, really?! Maybe everyone is at church praying for snow then.
  20. Keeping my fingers crossed as that trough slides south down the coast and out of Canada today we can pick up more showers than expected and maybe get some surprise snow. Never hurts to dream a little. Go Hawks!
  21. I agree! I also feel they will be significantly colder! Bastards!! lol
  22. I can guarantee that 99% of the publics memory of this will be a big fat zero if we do not get significant wide spread snow. Honestly it will barely be a blip on the radar for the average person as it really will not feel all that cold except for a few days, and the sun will really not make it feel all that cold from a public psychological standpoint. If we end up with snow, specially snow that were to last for more than a couple days the memory impact would be much larger. I know why the mets are making this pedestrian because to the average person it is. I hope we can get a surprise out of this and all walk away with some awesome memories other than comparing stats and looking at thermometers.
