Look at the returns just south of Omaha over Springfield and Louisville. Unbelievable rates I’m sure. Meanwhile just lt snow here near 680 and Irvington exit. No way I’m getting any crazy amounts here unless something changes

It’s snowing hard but snowflake size isn’t that big. Jim mentioned thundersnow possibilities around 6p. There is lightning in southwest Iowa lifting this way so we’ll see

Finally switched here about 15 minutes ago and it’s ripping good. Temp down to 28.9

I know it’s more radar watching time but we’re still early enough in the event to still look at short term models to get a general idea. HRRR and RAP have both trended down to 7-8” in Omaha but have over a foot in Lincoln still. Something to watch and see.

Anyone see if there is lightning anywhere close in Nebraska? I’m still stuck with sleet/freezing rain

Someone was talking about last time we had a blizzard warning here in eastern Nebraska. At least for Omaha the last one was 12/19/12.

I was thinking someone posted about not being able to see the Ukie’s temps, but on this site it lets you pick 2m temperature. Also has winds and precipitation as well.... Literally every model now has Omaha to Lincoln with 8-15” of snow. This is about as good as it gets. Now it’s up to Mother Nature to deliver!

We’ve had a fair amount of ice. My slanted sidewalk was pretty hard to even stand up on. I think main roads are okay with temps so close to freezing
