Thunder, lighting and snowing falling with a temp of 32.  This is a definitely a memorable weather day, I literally experienced all 4 seasons in about 12 hours.

It’s 21 here with about a quarter inch of snow on the ground and snowing moderately. A second wave of snow is expected to come through around midnight. This has been a weather day to remember!

33 and a few flurries currently. We hit 50 again yesterday. 60 in the forecast this coming Monday. At this rate I'm ready for spring. Daylight is longer and it's almost March already.

Gonna be a hot summer if this pattern doesn't change.

That’s one thing i been saying for a while is that summer will arrive early and cook longer with the pattern that we have currently

I was thinking there was a good chance this would trend further north.  No strong high or artic air to suppress it.  Should be fun to track this weekend.

I’m having a hard time buying heavy snow for us in the Midwest. There is no Canadian high to bring in the cold, marginal surface temps, and we been in the 50’s and 60’s all week.

    but we shall see lol

Looks like starting next week we are headed for a little January thaw.  AO, NAO, and EPO all headed positive for awhile along with the MJO headed into some very favorable phases for warm weather.

1.6(F) in MBY with a gentle snow falling.

As others have noted, it feels like I have time-traveled back to the winters of the late 70s and early 80s. Is it January 1979 or 2024? It seems most everyone in the sub has gotten in on the action and how often does that happen? Enjoy!

The snow has started here as well. Hopefully we can get a strong squall or 2 to move in today to beef us the tundra

Time to just bunker down inside and watch some football.  Chance of some light snow today an inch or so is possible.  -2 will make this the coldest kickoff ever at Arrowhead.

Dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills continue today and tonight. Still looking at a temperature around -2° and a wind chill around -24° at 7 pm tonight in KC. We likely won't see a wind chill above zero in KC again until late Wednesday morning

NAM still cuts the low over KC. Hard to believe that.

The nam started south then quickly cuts the low to the Northeast which none of the other models show happening. It comes out of Colorado about the same as the GFS and Euro but jumps north when it gets to Wichita
