Went from 75 to 36 in about 3 hours and snow about 2 hours away. True Midwest weather living up to its title!

33 and a few flurries currently. We hit 50 again yesterday. 60 in the forecast this coming Monday. At this rate I'm ready for spring. Daylight is longer and it's almost March already.
Gonna be a hot summer if this pattern doesn't change.
That’s one thing i been saying for a while is that summer will arrive early and cook longer with the pattern that we have currently

I was thinking there was a good chance this would trend further north. No strong high or artic air to suppress it. Should be fun to track this weekend.
I’m having a hard time buying heavy snow for us in the Midwest. There is no Canadian high to bring in the cold, marginal surface temps, and we been in the 50’s and 60’s all week.
but we shall see lol

The snow has started here as well. Hopefully we can get a strong squall or 2 to move in today to beef us the tundra

Time to just bunker down inside and watch some football. Chance of some light snow today an inch or so is possible. -2 will make this the coldest kickoff ever at Arrowhead.
Couldn’t pay me enough to be out there tonight! I love the Chiefs but I love my warm couch even more!! Lol

A band of snow is moving over Lawrence and KC now dropping about a half inch of snow making the roads slick

How's the rest of this month looking pattern wise around here? It would be nice to keep the storm train going around here.
We get a reinforcing shot of artic air next weekend and then the pattern flips to mild for the rest of the month with marginal precip chances

Radar says it’s snowing here but it’s just Virga for now. Maybe we can squeeze out 2 inches

NAM barely even has flurries here.
The NAM did terrible with the last storm so I’m not believing anything it puts out until tomorrow night.
The precip shield in correlation with the low is very off…

Official total for Lawrence is 8 inches.
Bring on round 2!

I must give it up to the GFS model for the win on this storm. It’ stayed steady with the southern track when ALL the other models pushed it further north.
I’m glad everyone is happy with the snows they received!

I need the temps to drop about 2 degrees so this snow will really start sticking like it’s suppose to!

New NAM continues to bomb 1-70 and south of it with good amounts

Local Mets are talking about upper their totals and the need for the local NWS to up us warning criteria

GFS bullish for KC.
One last hope and prayer!

One thing that I’m confused about this storm is that it’s taking the perfect track along the KS/OK border and into central Mo but KC is still too far south to get into the defo band. It just seems odd…

NAM still cuts the low over KC. Hard to believe that.
The nam started south then quickly cuts the low to the Northeast which none of the other models show happening. It comes out of Colorado about the same as the GFS and Euro but jumps north when it gets to Wichita

It’s 21 here with about a quarter inch of snow on the ground and snowing moderately. A second wave of snow is expected to come through around midnight. This has been a weather day to remember!
