Anyone in the valley above freezing yet? I'm in the south around 500ft and it's still 25f according to me backyard station.
How soon were you forecast to be above freezing?

I’m seeing that too. Precip has been a bit lame the past 90 minutes here on the west side.
This might be another case where the east and north sides of the metro win out. Have had light sleet/snow mix here almost all morning.

ACCUMULATING A LOT! , timelapse still going!
No accumulation here. Light snow/sleet mix with a brief period of big flakes.

Gotta feel bad for south metro and Salem. Seems like an annual tradition for them to get skunked.
Also, Albany and Eugene, just brutal icing.
We’re just in a bad spot for snow for whatever reason. Tough place to be a snow lover. I’ll try to appreciate w/e we get as long as it’s not ZR.

Need some advice. Have a bball tourney in Seaside this weekend. Organizers aren’t cancelling. Everyone is heading out there this afternoon. 1) Should conditions over the pass be ok? 2) Is there gonna be enough ZR at the coast to make travel around town impossible during the day tomorrow?

I need to go over Santiam pass today; looks pretty bad tonight. Not great timing. Hoping I can leave early enough to miss the worst of it but idk.

PDX NWS needs to fire its coaching staff immediately.
One consequnce of this event is that the model-riding is gonna get even more manic around here. At least in the Portland area, it’s been easy to default to a “trust the mets” attitude. That was my bias for sure. Because they’ve been right to be a wet blanket on our snow chances for years now. But this one was brutal; all of the best models were showing a significant event 24 hours out and they still refused to bite. It’s a good reminder that they’ll miss the outliers, and those are typically our best storms.
Now who has the latest hour 354 snow map?

Hell yeah! Thought we might get blanked but it’s snowing moderately now, the ground is white (!), and it looks like the sw metro (Sherwood/Tigard/Tualatin) is in a good spot for a bit.

@FroYoBro in Tigard probably about to get some heavy snow soon. Looks like that band is gonna hit that SW PDX area.
It’d be the first real snow of the event for us if that fist lifts north.

Radar doesn't look great right now, I think 3-4" will be what we end up with. Nice but kind of disappointing compared to the massive snowstorm east metro
I wish we’d gotten an inch, let alone 3”. Brutal, brutal day. Glad Portland homies got something regardless.

Chehalem Mountains getting hammered right now. Looks like a few inches even at 1000 ft near Buckheaven. Wonder what it’s like up near Bald Peak.
