  1. Was just looking at who was online and the screen name HardDrinkinLincoln has me intrigued.
  2. What's your temp? Still only 36 here which is surprising. I'm hoping we can get a quick inch with Monday's little 3 or 4 hour episode.
  3. Sucks that we can't get an epic pattern to save our life during low sun angles. I'm sure we will get the perfect setup in March again and the longer days and higher sun angles will kill us. Yawn.
  4. Something to talk about. We missed a decent snow last night by about 2-3 degrees here. Pretty heavy precip for a good 6 hours but it cut off by the time the temp got there. Looking at the hills surrounding us, we missed it by about 300' elevation.
  5. It's the pre-New Years Eve hangover for the New Years Eve hangover that precedes the New Years Day hangover that precedes the post New Years hangover that precedes the "Fukk this week, I will do real work next week" hangover.
  6. Just checking in before bed. I see a whole lot of grasping at what rhymes with bras at the moment.
  7. So the Goofus's father, the Geefus, says all is well? Sweet!! What does the Queefus say?
  8. Based on those numbers it looked like an easterly wind influenced situation for sure. Cold air damming in the likely westside locations. I would bet a good portion of that event it was dumping snow very far east in the gorge and far west of PDX. Looks like some damming even as far south as Dallas, cool stuff.
  9. 1.11 inches of precip and 3.4" of snow??? No way. And doubt it was a bunch of sleet and freezing rain...maybe but somehow a good snowfall would've came out of that.
  10. Getting ready to switch over to snow here. Too bad the moisture ends in a couple hours and the next couple weeks look like the same type of nonsense. C'mon mid/late January, we are counting on you. Please don't hide in the fetal position and expect February to come bail your azz out again!!!
  11. Right now the end of next week, Thur/Friday-ish is looking interesting. Looks like lots of low level easterlies with precip overriding central and eastern OR. Temps don't get out of the 20's for the duration.
  12. Lots of chances here in Central OR for wraparound precip and easterly/upslope flow. I like it.
  13. She looks very juicy. GOES-West - Sector view: Northern Pacific - Band 8 - NOAA / NESDIS / STAR
  14. Anyone have an update on January? Primarily mid/late January? Are the trends still looking good?
  15. Well yeah. Something has to punch that air down here. I think the rocky mountains still play a huge factor in cockblocking it though no matter what the forcing is.
  16. Dumping out there this morning. Over an inch already.
  17. Somewhat of a split flow next week but could easily spin up a surface low this time of year. I think any time after the new year bears watching for low snow levels.
  18. That squall line is pretty cool, looks headed right for my old place in Lake Stevens.
  19. Kind of weird. It almost looks like the low is pushing energy back to the west. Northwest IR Satellite | Department of Atmospheric Sciences (uw.edu)
  20. Pretty sure we had some gusts to 60 mph last night. Broke my Seahawks flag pole, riled the dogs up, and woke up my 2 year old. Pretty exciting stuff!!!
  21. Yay, something is broken!! Go wind!!!!! Awesome!!!! On a positive note, temp is dropping here and we should get some snow showers. Already snowing in S. Bend and points south.
  22. I just can't get excited about wind, no matter how hard I try. It does absolutely no good for anyone in any way, shape, or form. I will be back posting when another snowstorm is imminent. Wind blows, literally.
  23. It's almost always breezy over here, just the nature of the area. In these instances with a decent low riding the NW WA coast, we will probably have sustained 30-35 with 50-55 gusts, which is inline with the wind advisory issued. If it were to move 200 miles south then we would be in business. Seems like it gets windier over here when the low is closer, which makes us different the willamette valley.
