Starting to get a little snow mixing in. Still 38, but my dewpoint is 28.

Wind is picking up and the air is starting to dry out. Maybe it's coming.
I hope so. You and I have been basically shut out this season so far.

I'm in kind of a covid-induced stupor, so I'm going back to sleep.

I think it’s weird to own sheep while lacking any use for them. But I’m sure there’s an individual in Silver Falls who disagrees with me.
Ultimately it doesn’t concern me what his/her reasons are, because it’s of no relevance to me.
Keep on posting. Although some of what you say goes over my head, that's on me, not you. If I was half as smart as I think you are, I would do the same thing. As an aside, I'm not aware of any restrictions in place by Fred about the location of posters.

It would be weird if I was obsessively posting in a Maryland/Virginia weather forum.
What do you care where he posts or what he posts about?

Yeah, I've had some issues too. I thought maybe I had been hit with the ban HAMMER. But no, just technical difficulties.
I didn't think I was banned. I'm really not much of a controversial personality here--mostly a bit of a smart a** who contributes here and there. Still, it made no sense for me to be locked out either. Just glad I'm back even though it looks like there's not much to track for the next 2 weeks or so. Still, it's January, so there is opportunity forthcoming.

Did it say you were "banned" or just a password issue?
I couldn't use "Poulsbo Snowman", nor would it accept my e-mail address. Kept locking me out whenever I tried to log in. I'm laying on my couch this morning with COVID, so decided to try to log in again this morning. For some reason, it worked. Bizarre stuff.

Get any snow last week?
None. Just a few flakes. Nothing stuck.

I hope I have 33 degree rain, not 32 degree rain.

Western Washington will need a winter storm watch Tuesday evening posted if these ice models do not back down. .5 of ice here is no joke.
They will probably wait until tomorrow. They have a history of doing just that.

Completely understandable. Everyone getting snow would be great, but that can't happen so I'm rooting for less freezing rain.
But who knows, maybe the 850s will be colder than forecast and everyone can get some snow, but that seems unlikely.
It's the 925s you need to worry about.

Been over 30 years since that happened
And look at the continued pressure rises. This high is going to lock in place and be very difficult to move. I think the way out is an overrunning event next Wednesday--and that might not even scour out the cold.

I just did some back of the napkin calculations, and PDX is getting a mondo surprise tomorrow. Fortunately, I am MUCH smarter than the models, and I have determined that their resolution isn't enough to fully take into account the Gorge outflows's halting effect on the WAA at the mid levels. Wilsonville north will stay all snow tomorrow, and the precipitation shield will extend all the way to Kelso tonight, many hours sooner than modeled.
Also, everyone south of Seattle gets at least a little snow tomorrow. You're WELCOME
Can I see the napkin?

Too bad Sean Nyberg wont come back to talk about the 850mb temp potential.
It's gonna be tough to top 33 weenies. That record may stand for quite some time.
