  1. I’m considering a Euro Trip this summer so I’ll definitely reach out and pick your brain. I’m a Big “foodie” and love Greek food. An old friend of mine is Greek and his Mom always made the biggest feast on holidays or B Days. Awesome times.
  2. Yes, Greece sounds real nice...Mykonos!
  3. I'd be feeling the same as you and likely making plans to leave for AZ if I were in your shoes. Sedona is a wonderful and serene place to visit and live. Are they snow birds?
  4. MAR can produce some big time storms so there is a window of opportunity to experience a Blizzard or two before this season is up...we will get storms to come into the 4 corners in early MAR so don't give hope if your in the Plains/Midwest!
  5. I'd be right with ya...maybe plan a trip to FL or somewhere south and at least get to enjoy some sunshine and warmth!
  6. The LR is highlighting a pattern where we saw a Massive Alaskan/Western U.S. trough inundate the country and that pattern appears likely to end FEB and open MAR. March coming in like a Lion around here and may very well be a time for me to start thinking about where to go to experience one more (or 2) winter storms. The JMA Weeklies pretty much reversed any real Winter pattern...Yikes...those of you yearning for Real Snow and Sledding...come out WEST! Week 2... Week 3-4...
  7. I have a serious question for you guys out East...How many of you are ready for Spring? How many of you are still interested in Ol' Man Winter making a comeback? The models in the LR the past few days looked abysmal and they pretty much do today. I remember the feeling rather well when I lived back in CHI seeing brown grass during the Winter and how badly it sucked. You get to the point late in the season where you are greedy bc light snow events didn't really excite me much bc you have to deal with a higher sun angle, rising, avg temps and you wanna see a Big Dog at least one time before you flip your mood towards Spring.
  8. The LR looks pretty darn depressing for anyone East of the Rockies after this weekend...I guess the West US stole winter as the PAC jet is just raging. It appears I'll have to deal with the storms later in the month and prob most of MAR. The Ski Season should be phenomenal for Spring Breakers in MAR. Heck, I might even plan a trip if I can manage to find a crew to come with. Heavenly in Lake Tahoe could be the epic destination.
  9. Happy Valentine's Day! Let's Share some love around the world today, whether it be to your loved one or just a friend...we need more love in this world. In the wx world, around here its a carbon copy for the foreseeable future. I'll send you all some sunshine on this Valentine's Day...Spring Break anyone??
  10. From Flagstaff, you can pretty much get anywhere you'd like and its right in your back yard. You'll get to experience all sorts of diverse weather up there and I know you love the weather like I do. The smell of the fresh pine is wonderful during the warm months!
  11. Nothing but sunny skies through the work week into the weekend...my kinda weather if ain't gonna storm! I'll try to take some clear photos of the snow capped mountains to my east with a back drop of the deep blue skies. I should have done it yesterday when I was driving back home from errands.
  12. Flagstaff is a beautiful place but in the winter you wont get the consistency of deep snow as you will in the CO Rockies or the Sierra’s. It’s a different flavor for winter but when it does hit, it can dump snow for days. It is gorgeous in the Autumn and real delightful in the summer. You get some awesome storms up there during the Monsoon. Grand Canyon is only 1.5 hours away!
  13. This stat is what dove me crazy the past number of winters. I’d rather drive or fly somewhere where it snows and sticks and looks like winter than have to live in depression for a few months. I’m very happy where I’m at right now. It gets cool and wet but then you have a week of 70’s and sunshine. The mountains have tons of snow. I’ll prob make one more trip up into N AZ when the next storm parade hits and that’ll be good for me till next season.
  14. The LRC has dialed up several periods during the cycle which have produced "The Omega Block"...depending on where it has set up, it either was a dagger to the pattern...OR...more importantly, for Winter Wx Fans...it has produced Real Winter...get your winter gear ready, bc it appears likely that we are going to cycle through the coldest part of the LRC and the Alaskan Ridge is firing up! Do Re Me, I see you Mr. PV!!!
  15. In the medium range, did the GFS/ICON sniff this out??? Euro playing catch up it appears....This pattern really mimics a La Nina pattern as the real deal Arctic Air straddles the heartland and PAC systems traverse the belly of the beast. 0z Euro...this will be a higher ratio snow with Arctic Air in Toe...
  16. Happy Superbowl Sunday! It's game day and I hope that you all can enjoy the biggest sports day of the year. The weather will be FINALLY cooperating here in the Valley of the Sun where it will be living up to its name. I ventured out yesterday to the Princess Fairmont next to the TPC Scottsdale and it was a great experience. Great energy and vibe for sure. Met a group of girls that where from KC! Shout out to the KC fans out there! They actually were staying the night and flying to Vegas and had seats at the Superbowl Game. You know me, I had to ask....of course, I asked them if they knew Gary Lezak and they absolutely did! LOL, we started chatting about the weather, cycles, spiritual awakening...pretty interesting conversations....anyway, I'm pretty stoked for the game today and looking forward to a full day of sunshine.
  17. Enjoying the light show to my east from Mother Nature. First thunderstorm of the season. A SWS was issued for pea sized hail but not much wind. Really spectacular far reaching lighting that hangs up in the clouds in the darkness of night.
  18. The last, in what has been a memorable series of Winter Storms out here in the 4 corners region, is making its way through my back yard...in fact, it is going to track literally right overhead! Check out this cool little tight spin on radar...that little spin over the northern part of the radar loop is tracking over the I-17 that takes you up into Sedona/Flagstaff. Updated 3-day Snow Totals in Arizona: 36.1" Flagstaff, 55" Snowbowl, 36" Forest Lakes (Same place where I posted videos driving through Blitz conditions in JAN)....48" Sunrise Ski Resort....IF you thought that is a lot of snow, parts of So Cal by Big Bear got BURIED! 97" is an amazing 8.08 FEET! WOWZA!!
  19. I totally understand your feeling…but as you know well, living in the GL’s can be brutal during the Spring time. I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of warmer days mixed in this Spring.
  20. Gosh, the medium/long range looks like a La Nina pattern if you are to believe the EURO with Spring to the South and Winter to the north...Battle Zone right through the Heartland...
  21. FLG reported another Foot of Snow yesterday (12.4")...just shy of another daily record (12.9" 2009) by 1/2"...that puts a 3-day total of an impressive 36.1" of Powder! If it wasn't for the Superbowl this Sunday, I would totally be driving up there today for the snow thats coming later tonight into tomorrow. It must look like paradise up there!
  22. They close early around 4:00pm I know that they issue delays on the lifts if the wind blows hard enough but today it wasn’t as bad as yesterday.
  23. 12z Euro... @Iceresistance @Black Hole
  24. Amazing Winter scenery at Snowbowl....unfortunately, I wasn't able to drive up this week but I'm hoping that there will be another good stretch of snowy weather this month and plan to go up and enjoy something like this... https://www.snowbowl.ski/the-mountain/weather-conditions-webcams/webcams/
  25. The JMA weeklies agree with your thoughts, esp the southern half of the Nation... Week 2... Week 3-4...
