  1. .20" rain at 4am followed by 3.5" snow this afternoon from an impressive bout of thundersnow!
  2. 31/24 Thanksgiving & so far 29/23 today. Wednesday morning I received .40" rain, yesterday a surprise 3" snow and today it's been snowing a couple hours but no further accumulations yet.
  3. Wow. Oddly enough there were no winds at my location in the mountains, usually there would be. 53/43.
  4. With the sharp uptick in traffic I'd guess they're all open.....
  5. .09" rain and 3" snow last night. Quite the thunder n lighting show as well! 23F overnight currently 30F
  6. I think the crazy flip flopping in the long range will produce a solid statewide soaker by the end of the month / 1st week in December....hopefully after that the storms aren't too far apart.
  7. A high of 36 today, currently 31, with a burst of heavy snow this evening dropped a quick 1" after last nights .70" rain. Sounds like grauple on the roof right now.
  8. I think it was - and the amount of summer rain was crazy, I'm at almost a foot! Snows coming soon...anytime now....
  9. Nothing like norcals fire season but we did have early on (Early July?) the Lake fire near big bear / San Gorgonio that threatened 1100 homes and burned 35K and the small and short lived fire below the Cajon pass that jumped the 15 and burned 50+ cars alltogether and some homes/ranches. Blew up to 3k acres in a matter of hours and monsoon rains knocked it out the next day thankfully. Otherwise a pretty quiet season and blessed for that indeed!
  10. First sub 50 high since May, 49F after a low of 42F - felt great! A couple quick showers during the day and remaining foggy for the 5th or 6th day in a row.
  11. High desert going off again today - severe storms in Palmdale area and north from there, truly impressive! 4"-5" /hr rainfall rates, 60+mph winds...
  12. Highest totals from NWS SD region - mostly northern IE, San Bernardino Mountains around Crestline and the good ole high desert. Had .10" myself at 130am, plenty of lighting all night long... 1. 13. My high was one degree below your low!
  14. It would be glorious! I moved here in Feb. 08 but local stations reported over 130 inches for 04/05 with each month from Jan-Mar at over 30". Although I was here for the amazing week long non stop rain deluge of Dec. 2010 where I recorded 42" of rain over 7 days, most falling in a three day period: 10", 14" and 12" the last weekend in Dec. fri/sat/sun. Local stations from Crestline, Lake Arrowhead & Running Springs ranged from 33" - 45" for the same timeframe....backcountry reports after the storm estimates over 20 feet of snow above 10k, temps at my place hovered in the high 30's to 40 the entire week with the occasional graupel / hail...
  15. Nice - I thought that was the place! Thanks for sharing.

  17. I had 1.30" before it got dark and has since rained a bit. We'll see in the morning what it adds up to. Currently 43F after a high of 46F early this morning.
  18. Should be a good day tomorrow! RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM ONE HALF TO ONE INCH NEAR THE COAST TO 1 TO 2 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH LOCAL AMOUNTS EXCEEDING 4 INCHES ON THE SOUTH SLOPES OF THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN THE THE UPPER DESERTS WILL BE AROUND ONE THIRD INCH AND MOSTLY ONE TENTH INCH OR LESS IN THE LOWER DESERTS
  19. Years ago I did a bit of work in Atascadero - nothin like walking indoors in the morning when it's 30F and coming out for lunch and its 90F! 48F low here this morning, currently 53 with dog hanging around.
  20. It would be incredible to get anything close to a repeat as soon as next week let alone next summer!
  21. Just over 3" here since 6am. Some impressive totals, here's the top list from NWS SD as of 1pm. Yucaipa ridge is about 20 miles south of me and is the ridge facing the valley in front of San Gorgonio which sits at 11.5k. 1. YUCAIPA RIDGE 5.20 9020 2. CREST PARK 2.99 5624 3. 22. .25" so far here today with plenty of thunder. Quite the light show last night as well.
  23. Last arctic blast was the 1st of the year 2015 I recorded a 17/10 which is my record low high temp for my location (just 8 years though) - my guess is we're more than half way to the next one! LOL
  24. Forecast temps have been underperforming here this week especially overnight temps in the low 50's vs forecasted upper 50's. By Friday it's showing 62/49 and I wouldn't be surprised to see low 40's and daytime not cracking 60.....it's that time of year we can & typically do get our first freeze by the latter half of the month.
