  1. Not as warm today here after yesterdays 81F. Forecast 84 but only hit 76/58. Excited for some interesting weather prospects (and much needed rain!) with Tstorm chances Sat through at least Wed.
  2. Picked up .30" this afternoon with lots of lightning - definitely a worthy day for June! Colder now than it was early morning, started out 'hot' and muggy like a clammy August day!
  3. 76F here currently making this the new hottest day of the year - bring on Blanca!
  4. Heard some areas around the Kings fire had up to 2"+ yesterday. I had a fair weather cumulus track directly overhead east to west above the marine layer drifting in. LoL
  5. Similar situation in SF and I'm sure many spots all along CA. Pretty amazing, and I am beyond thankful, if we had hot and dry weather continue through April/May/June the summer & fall would be that much more unnerving due to wildfire concerns - it's a small consolation but it's there nonetheless! "In a rather incredible climatological inversion, San Francisco recorded a May that was cooler than the months of January, February, March, AND April for the first time in recorded history." http://www.weatherwest.com Fog (deep marine layer) rolled in and it's now mid/upper 40's - quite rare as we head into June!
  6. All hopes of precip in the SoCal mountains is gone for today/tonight. Maybe next Wednesday/Thursday we'll get a shot at some convection spawned by remnants of Blanca... Nice cool June day yesterday with a High of 55, Low this morning 42....cooler than many J/F/M/A mornings this year! LOL
  7. Warmest day of the year here at 71F - it felt downright hot! Also the highest minimum at 50F this am. Currently 60F, yikes! Termites are doing their once a year swarming which always signals the first arrival of warmer weather, every termite on the mountain takes flight in a 24hr period and within 2 days, gone.
  8. Looks like up to or over 2" rain in the mountains and up to a foot of snow above snow level. I'm right in the iffy zone, last week it was all snow, this time not so sure how it'll play out...
  9. It's watering my spring garden (which is planted from seed) so I'll definitely take it! I hope the 3rd system around the 21st-23rd happens as well!!
  10. 4" snow and still coming down. 29F, pea size hail last night before the snow started.
  11. "Snow Likely" here for Thursday / Friday with a few or more inches possible and chance of thunder - woohoo! High of 48 today with dense fog and bright sunshine peaking in occasionally.
  12. Any green in CA is more than welcome, any time of year!
  13. I had my first 70 degree reading yesterday here. Not necessarily uncommon, but what is uncommon was the extremely mild/warm J/F/M. I think I could count our subfreezing lows YTD on two hands when it should be closer to, oh I dunno, NINETY!
  14. Wow, Palomar Mountain squeezed 3.05" out of this last system along with several other 2"+ readings in San diego / Riverside county mountains.
  15. I suppose I can't complain about .53" from this. It would be nice to squeeze in one or two more before it's absolutely over...
  16. A cell dropped 1.42" in the Santa Rosa mountains yesterday. The high desert North & East of here along with the desert mountain slopes has had Tstorms daily since Tuesday. Tuesday I heard thunder as the cell developed and drifted away into the desert.... It's been drippy, misty, drizzly since last night with maybe a tenth of an inch, temps steady around 40F. This should be much more common in spring, bookended by an actual late season storm or two!
  17. .15" rain/sleet last night and snow showers today so far only amounting to less than 1/2". Temps steady at ~32F since about midnight.
  18. 2" rain & 6" snow. 22" snow for the season - well well below average.
  19. Nws SD suggesting upwards of .50" here in the mountains - it'll be nice for a change at least! Hopefully long range holds onto the idea of a real pattern change, I'd hate to see the rug pulled out from under us like it's bee doing the last 6 weeks....I mean 3 years....
  20. Interesting, this morning was my warmest morning of the year at 48! Hit 60 by 9am but topped out at 63. Down to 49 now, which is still warmer than the average high temperature....
  21. Yes exactly, I'm on the side and close to a top of a 'hill'. The canyon below me (deep creek) can be 20-30 degrees colder as long as wind doesn't mix out the cold at that gets stuck in the canyon. Pretty amazing to see when I go hiking from my house! At New Years I managed a low of 12 and my record low high temp of 20, which was previously 23.
  22. Wow both of those readings are even higher than my location. I've averaged upper 50's and low/mid 40's for about 6 weeks now. Ridiculous.
  23. I just realized I hadn't recorded a below freezing temp. since the new year cold snap. Over a month. That should only happen in July and maybe August.....not the dead of winter....unreal. I know the valleys are feeling like April, but the mountains feel a lot like June....
  24. Ending January with 1.45" rain and no measurable snow. Nothing in the forecast or even long range for SoCal. Sad indeed.
