  1. That low that stalled near Cape Blanco brought us, like, 15 inches here in PDX last week. Did the South Valley not get anything?
  2. Can't be, this poster has said nothing about real men, guns, the better generation, and stupid millennials.
  3. Maybe 50 or so per year. We usually get them in conjunction with high winds, gusts past 160 mph.
  4. Wind field doesn't look expansive/strong enough for any 40+ gusts inland, unless I'm missing something. Still great to see the possibility there.
  5. You're probably right, but considering the lack of the usual winter blusters down here even the regular systems are missed.
  6. But people up north are probably tired of wind events for now.
  7. I could blame past generations for a lot of things. In fact most of them have done a lot of s***, much more than the newest generation has yet to do.
  8. I hope this is sarcasm, cause generation-blaming is just silly.
  9. That was ridiculous. I know people were talking about wet-bulb and evaporative cooling but that was so far out.
  10. I know, these disappointments seem so common around here. February 2017 was another one where it was just cold rain in PDX, but I wasn't even mad about that one. Or November 13th, 2014, where the NWS forecast 7-9 inches of snow in PDX and we got 1/2 inch of ice pellets. I don't know why I'm so bitter about that windstorm on the 20th of last month.
  11. TBH, and I know it's sad, but I'd take that over the upcoming weather.
  12. My least favorite event would definitely be the 10/15/16. Models promised something epic, the NWS put out a warning for 60 mph gusts region-wide. Even the most conservative of mets were on board. Then nothing happened. It was blustery, PDX gusted over 50 which was nice. But it was a letdown. Oh, that windstorm on December 14 this December is up there. Because now that passes for a great storm down here.
  13. Fun question- what is your least favorite weather event of all time?
  14. I wish I could say I'm surprised. And I'm 99% sure that Portland ends up drier than areas N. and S. as well.
