  1. the deformation band has been stationary basically all day which means it has stayed about 20 miles west of me. Only had .02" of rain during the day today.
  2. Yep, I’m up to 1.3” of rain now from the last couple of days. Definitely will be mowing this weekend!
  3. Up to .63” of rain so far today along with .07” yesterday so .70” event total through 1120p.
  4. Omaha was under a severe tstorm warning last night 2 different times, once until 1 am and then again until 2 am. The warnings were for collapsing showers that were producing wind gusts up to 60 mph. Didn't have any kind of wind that strong here, but my weather station did show 2 different small heat bursts where the temp jumped up about 5 degrees and the humidity dropped a decent amount for a few minutes.
  5. Minus the two week period in February with the record cold, this winter was pretty much the complete opposite in terms of the relentless winter that was predicted (once again). Basically the entire forum was well above average for temps and some areas did pretty good for snow, but even that ended early for most people with no snow in March.
  6. Made it to 80.4 yesterday with a dewpoint in the mid 20s. What little wind there was during the day yesterday died off at sunset and the temps tanked pretty fast falling all the way down to 53 degrees by 1030. Pretty rare to see a drop that quickly without a cold frontal passage. Severe weather looks pretty marginal with this system. Capping concerns on Tuesday and then too much clouds and precip on Wednesday. I actually am not a big fan of closed cut off lows and severe weather opportunities. A lot of times you have one hell of an ugly looking atmospheric column for winds with horrible veer back and the system moves so slow you have big issues with convective overturning.
  7. I noticed that too. Two nights ago we never rose above 45% for humidity. Something I don’t recall seeing in a long time if ever. Last night made it up to about 70% but not until just before sunrise after the winds had turned to the south
  8. Crashed to 18.0 degrees this morning in my backyard. Coldest low since 2/20. The daffodils are looking a little rough. Hopefully they spring back with the warmth coming up.
  9. Hit 76.8 in my backyard. Warmest high since last November 3rd. We're relatively close to wiping out the deficit this month for below normal temps in February that was 10.4 degrees below normal. March is running +7.5 so far. If you take out 2/6-2/17, this would have been one of the warmer winters on record I'm guessing. November +4.9, December +4.5, January +5.8.... 2/6-2/17 average: -8.5/ 9.4 (27.7 degrees below normal) Rest of February: 20.8/ 40.6 (2.6 degrees above normal)
  10. Had 2 fronts come through today. First one came through a little after 9 this morning. Turned the winds to NW, mixed the air up causing a little quicker bump in the morning temps, and we had gusty winds most of the afternoon. 2nd piece came through a little after 8 this evening. The winds had gone almost calm but have kicked back up. You can also see the humidity dropped quite a bit and with this secondary passage the pressure is rising much faster leading to the gusty winds again.
  11. Video of brief tornado near Rockport, IL Tuesday
  12. Ended up with 1.04” today and 1.43” storm total. 4.88” total this month which has all fallen in the last week.
  13. up to .81" of rain so far from this system and now 4.26" of rain for the month. So far we're averaging 8.4 degrees above normal for the month and 20/22 days have been above average. The 2 days that weren't above average were only 1 degree below average. The last time it snowed here was February 21st. Will be curious to see if that's the last time this season, which is pretty darn early for last snowfall. After the rain ends tomorrow morning, highs back in the 50s and then 60s by this weekend

  16. Here’s some of the muddy rain that fell today in Omaha!
  17. Ended up with 3.41" storm total. Even better, not a lot of standing water anywhere so it looks like most of it soaked into the ground.
  18. Had 2.91” in the last 24 hours! Now at 3.28” storm total.
  19. Heavy rain blossoming across eastern Nebraska.
