It always amazes me how just a few miles difference in placement of a low has such big effects on who gets snow and who is too warm, still uncertain at best.
-
It could trend south still, it’s not over for people in the Portland metro the models can flip back to what they were saying just the run before again tonight, you just never know nothings ever certain in forecasting.

We’re all passionate about snow but I mean at the end of the day if it doesn’t snow where you live, life goes on and the world keeps spinning. I get it it’s disappointing we’ve all been disappointed a couple times every winter, but we all live within an hour drive of snow wether you are in OR or WA. you can see snow 6-8 months out of the year if you really want to see it that bad, or there’s always colder climates to the east of us that are better if you really want snow that much. Overall it’s just snow, if it doesn’t happen it’ll happen again in the future inevitably

Well, no matter what happens Saturday-Tuesday will be interesting to watch! If there is convergence on Sunday morning like the ECMWF shows... it will be cold enough for all snow.
-
It’s still hard too tell if temps are going to be cold enough for snowfall on Saturday Night-Sunday morning for Puget Sound region or if it’ll be 500-1000’ kind of event, reminds me of snow last February, was snowing but too warm to stick until nighttime then we got a couple inches of snow and it melted off mostly the next day, snow events the next few days are very marginal and if it does snow go and enjoy it since it won’t stick around long due to late February being slightly warmer.

dang snow Saturday and Sunday possibly right when I gotta drive from Tacoma to Anacortes

No matter how much snow falls in Seattle or Portland I’m going up to Mt.Constitution on Orcas Island Sunday, they should have some snow up at 2400’ so I’ll see snow either way but hope everyone gets what they want weather wise the next few days, and if not there’s next winter!

Forecast models have been all over the place this month, really hard to say what will really happen, Seattle might get hit, Portland might get hit, this whole thing may trend too far south for anyone to see a flake and maybe too far north and we all see rain. Really hard to say more than 3 days out. Recall the 11th of this month when we were supposed to see 12” possibly in Seattle area ended up being half that for many and cold rain, just be patient and don’t get your hopes up too high for anything!

We’ve just gotta wait and see, at the moment it is trending north but nobody is ruled out at this point for snowfall. The truth is though that chances are increasing in the Puget Sound area a bit, let’s just hope we finally can get a good snow event for both metro areas!
-
Nobody panic yet, Remember that models change quick, forecasts are never 100% accurate especially 72-108hrs out. Just watching forecast models for years teaches you not too panic too much until 24-48hrs out.

Hopefully Portland gets their major snowfall event and Seattle area can get a couple inches and make everyone happy

True, Pacific Northwest lowlands aren’t the greatest area to see snowfall, East of the cascades is where it’s at. I try not to get too upset when it doesn’t snow here, I just go up to snoqualmie or baker if I am craving to see snow. However we all don’t know what the next couple weeks hold weather wise anything can happen in the Willamette valley or Puget Sound.
-
Or find a gig in the Midwest or even just east of the Cascades and enjoy all 4 seasons. I know some of us can’t do that at the moment but in the coming years, every one of us will eventually see a solid snow event of more than 4” again, even if it’s at least having to travel to the snow
As far as the Willamette Valley seeing anything more than a 4” snowstorm, it feels very unlikely and possibly for many years after what has been a good decade esp down south. We are due for some crappy winters.

Hello im new here well I’ve been lurking on here for awhile before just wanted hello and hope everyone can get a good round of snow before winter closes the door! Nws has been saying that it may just be too warm in Seattle/Portland regions for snow but I can recall accumulating snowfall as late as April (2008) so definitely anything can happen!

If there is snow over the next few days, it’ll be pretty remarkable considering that we’re nearing the beginning of March and some people are gonna have snow on the ground for sure to the north of the low. Just rare to be talking about significant snowfall so late in winter.
