I don’t remember any ZR map ever verifying in the PS. I don’t see it getting this bad I always mix out very early. Even with weak outflow still happening.
I believe we will get the ZR but not that much near the water. We literally had a huge event last year of freezing rain for the Puget Sound.

It's actually amazing how many things have went just right for the entire sound to miss out on a snow event and now this one will miss Seattle again most likely. A couple inches will happen here but I was hoping for a *** of a lot more. North of Everett is going to get a major event.
Maybe I need to start complaining more.
Yea, tough couple of years. 2020, 2022, and 2023 for Seattle south. It should even out soon though. We are way over due for an Olympia/Tacoma special.

I really hope this busts. Don’t want to deal with another ice event regardless of the longevity of it.

I would say in the past whenever freezing rain was in the forecast it ends up snowing probably 95% of the time or just rains.
It is extremely rare in Puget sound. I have seen it 3 times on 40 years that I can remember.
It's funny since I am only 24, I have a different perspective. I have seen two major freezing rain events (2012, Dec 2022) and a handful of smaller ones. However, it seems like we have some freezing rain every couple years.

Saw a little ice in the Puyallup river as it flowed into the sound in Tacoma. I also saw a little ice floating on the surface by the boats in the harbor. Can’t remember ever seeing that in the Tacoma waterfront.

We don’t usually look at ensembles 24 hours out. So we probably aren’t used to looking at them. The spread probably isn’t all that unusual.
I usually do and it’s a little spread out…. But not to this extent. I expect the 00z to consolidate and nail Portland

I think there will be at least flurries up to Seattle tomorrow. And Tuesday night/Wednesday is the big chance at the end of this cold event.
Huge ensemble improvements for centralia and oly on the GEFS

Wow the GFS shifted north again. Two more shifts and Tacoma is in play. Doubt it tho. Portland is a heavy favorite!

Good to know we aren't the only ones having awful snow busts. Chicago had a Winter Storm Warning today and the storm tracked way North from modeled and it's been basically all rain.
Oh really? Mossman used his powers on the wrong storm to trend north

Looks like a slight jog north but the lowest pressure is way north of the 00z but it overall looks the same pretty much.
