Decided to drive a few minutes east to Index, where it's snowing moderately and a literal winter wonderland. I sometimes wish I bought a place there, but the added commute would be brutal.

I was gonna say...it's snowing here too. Starting to stick on concrete too. Kinda confused, wasn't expecting this.

Looks like my snowpack won't get the refresher it needs to make it to Christmas. That's okay, it'll have lasted on the ground for 2 weeks by the time it's gone. That's a great early season haul IMO. I remember living in Redmond, Kirkland and Renton growing up every major snowstorm I scored on. Inauguration day, 1996, 2005, 2006, 2008 are all ingrained in my memory. Since moving to Gold Bar my 2 Winters have had major scores that rival everything except for Hanukkah Eve and Bill Clinton's intro. Before last year I'd never had a winter where I scored more than 24" of snow and that got blown out of the water. Something is definitely brewing this year and I couldn't be happier with moving to a more snow-prone area.

Need a refresher, snow is a week old now and I only have about 5" left in the front yard. Need enough to make it to Christmas

All they have to do to be successful is have great coffee and really good pie. How is that hard?

Is Twedes any better since it got new management? That place was the epitome of disappointment last time I was there a few years ago.

The south sound got smacked and the NWS was quiet until 3 hours into the event. Listen to and trust Gradient, Meatyerologist (I can't spell), Phil, Tim and Jim for odds. Only trust Jim if everyone else is on board though, he is the most optimistic of us all.

Alright calling my shot now for January. Mid-month arctic blast that keeps temps north of the Columbia below freezing max for 8 days. South of will be balmy and early spring flowers will begin to bloom As for snow? Randy wins with 4 feet of powder and opens his own ski resort at home. Trace-2" at Jim's house, who calls it an all time bust. Tim's power will be out for 3 weeks and he will evac himself to the Bahamas until March.

No snow for almost 3 days now, still have 10". Reminds me a lot of 2006 tbh. Love how this winter started!

I'm pretty shocked. I'd imagine we'd have similar weather, with you having better accumulation thanks to added elevation. Or at the very least you could have some of this pass wind lol
