You are such a wet blanket sometimes. Geez
The change between 1pm and 4pm was pretty fun. Would have been nice to have a little more precip with and a more robust cold pool in the wake of the front.

We liked this dramatic change of weather TOO MUCH for you.
Not sure you'll ever be ok with other people's feelings about weather.
Eh. Today will go on the books as another very warm day. Tomorrow barely gets us to average then it’s back to more ridging. Followed by another “troughy” period that’s getting more toned down by the day.
Today was fun, but it would be more exciting if it were a longer lasting crash to significantly colder or wet weather. Just my opinion.

Temp down to 50 after a high of 63.
Seems like alot’s been made of today’s front, but we’ve seen drops throughout the day like this multiple times during our more active springs

0.5F departure at SLE This month.
Always nice when your local station is behaving Andrew. PDX has been puking out 70 degree readings like nobody’s bizz since mid-March. I think today is #10 and we’re only 2/3 through April.

Gorgeous day. Was up in the Seattle area earlier. Giving my best friend and his wife a ride to Sea-Tac. They will be going to New York and DC this week. Great day to drive up I-5 with the mountains popping.
Had enough time afterward to check out a nice park along the Green River near Kent before heading back south. Temps were in the mid-60s with breezy conditions and very dry air.

Extremely windy out there. Gusts 35-40. Feels chilly too with a temp of 58 and DPs in the 20s.

Stayed windy all night here which is unusual for this time of year. Made for a very mild low of 52. Warmest of the year so far.
Glad that front is coming through tomorrow because this ridging is starting to get stale.

Great looking Euro run tonight.

Gorgeous day with a 69/36 spread here. Light morning frost then gusty east winds, low DPs and crystal clear skies this afternoon.

Should be a drought buster in BC.

That’s a poster above the bed pic for Shawnigan if I’ve ever seen one

Looks like 38 at PDX this morning. 34 for VUO. Both beat yesterday’s lows by a degree. Not bad!

54 degrees and sunny now. Another beautiful morning, and even easier to enjoy with something besides endless sun and warmth in the forecast at the moment.

The 12z CMC would put any drought worries to bed.
Too bad random model runs can’t end drought. It takes actual rain!

Nice to see widespread lows in the 30s again this morning. PDX decoupled more quickly and actually got a degree or two colder than last night it appears.
Low of 36 here with some light frost but not as much as yesterday. Still impressive to see frost on back to back mornings this late.

I really hope May and June are a soaker. That usually keeps things lush into the early Summer.
Already starting to see some brown in the backyard. Running out of time to save it before our wet season is used up. Nothing is worse than entering ASO browntown three months ahead of schedule and staying that way. The majority of 2014-18 were tinder dry and sickly colored. Hoping we go the route of 2019, or especially 2022.
The fact that those are the two analogs you remember most readily for that sort of thing says more about the sad state of our climate than it does anything. 2019 actually had a top tier warm and dry May and an averagish June followed by a reasonable if not mild summer. 2022 had a coolish and wettish May followed by an averagish June, after which we descended directly into summer hellfire and didn’t look back until November.
They’re getting pretty ancient now, but a couple better examples of a classic cool and wet May/June would be 2010 and 2012.

Can you imagine if we are blessed with a wet May. The ENSO forecast is coming more into focus now. Really starting to look like we land on a moderate Nina.
I’m afraid to hope Andrew. Do you know any priests whose counsel I could seek?

Gorgeous day here. Morning frost then afternoon sunshine with a cool breeze, reasonable temps and some decorative puffy clouds around.
64/34 spread.

Nice 18z run.
Could be some sort of pattern change afoot. Would be nice. Still too early to say though.

62F and beautiful out there.
Looks like EUG hit 36 this morning.

There are a bunch of them strung together on a light wind shift so there’s a slightly better chance they reached 39. Tho not guaranteed.
If it was gyrating back/forth between 39 & 41 that’d suggest they’re hugging the rounding threshold and likely didn’t make it. Guess we’ll find out soon.
Never underestimate the crapulence of that station.

Not really. But yes, lots of climate anxiety here.
